How well does that sync with your Mac? I'm thinking of getting one...

To be honest, I haven't used the software that came with the phone, or taken out the usb cable. The only thing I've done is send images to use for wallpapers via bluetooth, and that works perfectly.

Yeah I hate rogers too, but they screwed up our account so badly I got the phone for pretty cheap.

Oh, okay. I didn't see it on the Apple site though.

I'm also considering a w850i, but I think it needs a plugin to sync correctly.

This is my current phone, a Samsung slider from Asia, which I've had for a couple of years. Can't wait for my Shine to arrive (likely Monday) and to switch to Bell from Rogers (those thieving mofos). Will post pics when it arrives.

I debated between these two also, and in the end picked the shine because it was more solid... the plastic on the w580i just seemed cheap and most likely wouldn't last as long as the stainless on the shine. I love the Shine!

I felt the same way, but I ordered the w580i. It seemed like it had more features, and I couldn't find any way for the LG to sync with my computer. Also, it was cheaper.

I can tell you RIGHT NOW that your Shine's "tin" metal is not superior to the plastic in the W580i (slider on AT&T & Rogers Wireless with the Accelerometer; the W850i is a Euro 3G device with "dot-buttons" for the D-Pad). My wife Also has the Rogers TU720 Shine ... and she kept it in a jacket pocket (no change, no paperclips, just feather dust no zippers on the pocket) and in 3-days already visible scratches on the back shell. GET A CASE and PRONTO if you BOTH wanna keep your LG Shines (Slider or Flip) perty!

W580i is a GREAT phone for those that wish to have a Pedometer for jogging. Its replacement is already announced and coming 2QTR of 2008. THe W760i.

Features above the w580i:
- SE's A200 Platform offering...
*Quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE
*Triband 3G HSDPA 850/1900/2100Mhz (not TMobile's 2100Mhz just Europe)
* PSP like media menu Uber cool & functional.
* Acelerometer is there but add A-GPS with it for Geotagging photos
* 3.2MP Camera (not flash still, no AF, but your pictures WILL come out better with AutoFix feature)
* Larger 2.2" screen vs the 2 on the w580 which visually IS noticeable.
* Stereo Speakers with a 3D speaker (on unit).
* A+B Gaming buttons.

HTC eat your heart out SonyEricsson Xperia X1!!!

Sony Ericsson unveiled its first Windows Mobile 6 Professional powered smartphone. Featuring the new Xperia panel-based home screen, the X1 has a unique arc form slide-out QWERTY keyboard, WVGA (800x480 pixel) touchscreen display, and built-in GPS receiver.

The Xperia X1 features quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900MHz) and 4 bands of HSDPA/HSUPA (850/1700/1900/2100MHz or 900/1700/1900/2100MHz) support, as well as WiFi, for unbeatable connectivity. The slender Xperia X1 measures 110mm x 53mm x 17mm (4.3" x 2.1" x .7") and weighs in at 145g (5.1oz). A 3.2 megapixel camera with auto-focus and video capture is also on board.

:eek::apple:

I read and the rogers sales people told me about how they've had tons of the 580's come back with broken key pads. Of course metal is suseptable to scratches, have you taken a look at the back of an iPod lately? I've got mine wrapped in an invisible shield.

Sony fixed the keypad problem with the 580s, and any new one shouldn't have that issue. That was the first thing I checked into when I bought mine

The Shine looks okay, but the stainless steel gets dark fast. Although I'm not much of a fashionista, I do try to take care of my toys. I'll just pay the same attention to it that I do with my MBP and it should stay new looking for a while.

The only issue I have with the phone is that its so thin. Even with its hefty weight, I'm afraid I might drop the thing :eek:

I had the D600 for a bit, but the slider screen broke. Best phone in my opinion, but it DID give me an excuse to buy an iphone. :p

Agreed.. I do have the grey w580i and think it's a great phone. That w760i looks great but I probly wont upgrade untill its replacement comes out..

it's the t650i. I love it! got rid of my k850 and am keeping this. i'm definitely an SE fan-boy and have had well over a dozen of their headsets since 01. the t650 is slim, feature rich, and feels great in your hands. i'd have to say thus far it's been one of my favorite phones in recent years (yes, even moreso than my old iphone).

What SE model is this? How do you like it?

Hurrah! My black w580i came!

It's pretty!

...Enthusiasm!

Pictures soon.

t-mobile-wing.jpg

You have my phone :-o What is this witchcraft! :p

How you liking it? I find the Wing suits my needs pretty well without all the T-mo crap installed. Might try some cooked ROMs soon, depends on if T-mo gets out a timely update to 6.1 out.
