Ok, these aren't my phones, but I do have to go through 40+ of them and convert the MEID to an ESN and then get lock codes for each of them.

Do you work for a mobile phone company?

I work for dealer for Thunder Bay Telephone. It is one of the only independent phone services in Canada, maybe even North America. So a few times a week I have to get lock codes for dozens of phones that come in. And if a phone gets repaired and has a new ESN, I have to hunt down the lock code for it, which usually isn't so fun.

Sweet ... I've been troubleshooting BES for the past 1.3yrs without my own 8100 - more on that later. BIS was fast for Pop3 emails but I'm hearing its now becoming instant. Great news.
It seems that Google and Yahoo have some special tie-in to BIS that allows for instant delivery. It's amazing.

You got to rub it in, don't you ;) . Prior to 4mths ago it was $100/mth = 1GB and it was "soft capped". Rogers version of "unlimited data" if you went over you wouldn't get a call, nor even an sms to inform you, you'd just be billed incredible overages ($3/MB). Now its $65/mth = 1GB, and it throttles upwards in increments, $75/mth = 2GB, etc if you go above your oringinal 1GB. Its getting better, but way WAY too slow. February 8TH regular cellphones will allow on the phone itself (no BT/USB tethering) of True unlimited surfing - using the phones browser for $7/mth! But I highly doubt Blackberry's will be included. I pray but I don't think our Wireless Deity is listening ;)
Maybe... Haha. Although that is insane for the prices of it. Thankfully the "unlimited" plan doesn't have overage charges, but if you have the 10MB plan or pay as you go, it's $15.36/MB. Damn...

DUDE! You've just made my month! I'm GLAD to see that OS 4.2 allows for this! You are correct that the 8100 didn't allow this, hence why I used it for only 3-4mths and sold it.

I already got rid of my unlocked AT&T Motorola Q9h .... back to my SE K790a. I'm considering the K850i for night on the town usuage ... but with OS 4.5 coming for BB's with HTML (limited of course) Email support .... the 8120/8320 just might get my hard earned cash!
Remember, the 8130 is OS 4.3. I can't wait until 4.5 is released. Hopefully it will be available to upgrade on previous handsets. If it doesn't I'll be mad. The Verizon OS is a little buggy, so I'm hoping that they'll either release a 4.3 update or go straight to 4.5. Wish that GPS wasn't disabled as well. But I still love it. :D

I got one of these (D750i) and am trying to flash it to the W800i firmware but it just wont work damn it!

Sorry about the quality, I took it with my old 6230.

Dude you don't have to wait for VERIZON! .... check your full firmware in the about screen. Then pay Blackberryforums.com a visit ... check for the latest firmware threads in the 8100 Forums, specific to your 8130 and I'm sure there you'll find the updated firmware with less issues - RIM is incredible for quick releases and bug fixes! Download it first. Do a BACKUP of your data ... maybe even a FULL backup! Also there is an IMPORTANT Sticky regarding how to update firmware (removal of 2 files on your desktop - .alx files - & how to edit so that certain provider themes can be enabled). Lastly, after the firmware update take 20 minutes to quick open standard apps, switch core themes then back again. HRT, and also resend those service books from Verizon BIS site, just in case, THEN do your restore of your core data (calendar, memo pad, address book, tasks, 3rd party apps - their databases, Bookmarks, other settings etc.

Hope this helps ... I'll see if I can find the specific threads.

Man such a good phone (horrible Tmobile shell though). Quality 2MP AF camera (not ppl that this was the very FIRST cellphone to feature AF = K750i/W800i/D750i.). What software are you using to put your firmware on your D750i? XS++ ? Also is your phone unlocked?

This thread should help you along the way.

Hi, Prom1, thanks for the info and help!

Look at this thread I posted and see if you can tell me how to get the phone flashed... Would be great if you can, I can unlock it then, too!

Thanks in advance!

Hmm. I cannot even begin to know where to start, but that log file is very helpful.

2 Major suggestions:

1> USB Drivers ... although you may already have ones that came with the SE PC Suite, those are not adequate for this 3rd party software (XS++) to fully work. Nice thing is its free.

2> You have the firmware (the 2 parts of it) but you also NEED the Customization file specific to your firmware. Without it nothing gonna work. you'll need to track it down BIGTYME!

Esato.com (forums) or NSE forums - both are the best information source for most things SonyEricsson; however both sites get their firmware, customization files and software from another site that I cannot recall and their membership at this third site is a pain. You gotta make 10 posts in order to be able to download what you need/want (finding it is a cince though). So check out NSE & Esato first.

ie .... 3 components you'll need >
esato thread for K810 different model said:
K810_R8BA024_FS_CENT_EUROPE_RED52
K810_R8BA024_MAIN_GENERIC_SM_RED52
to flash my k800 to k810 ... and the cda file used was : K810i_CDA102568_11_R8A_GENERIC_EUROPE_2_without_pw

I think I found what you're after ....

1ST fully drain and fully CHARGE your batterY! Do NOT ignore this step or battery life will never fully charge.

I think I found what you're after ...
K750i to W800i Via SEUS and DCU60 for Free, keep all your settings, contacts,..

I knew about that, but I have to download the files some other time because I can't really download a 100MB file over dial-up. Wish you could download files to the BlackBerry and then transfer them to your PC. That would be GREAT.

What are you using to flash it?
I just used WotanServer to flash my K800i to generic SE FW from Orange FW and it worked amazingly well and quick.

Thanks to you all who have tryed to help me with my flashing problems.

I have tryed PhoneXS and XS++ with no joy.

I have USB drivers but no way to install them. I also installed some .exe I found that is meant to be W800i USB drivers but it has made no difference.

I am using Windows Vista in Parallels BTW...

Also, Prom1, I now have a lot of conflicting information, as I have never heard on a customization file, and all the tutorials say you need just the main firmware file and the file system file.

EDIT: Im looking t that link now, thanks, Prom1.

After installing SEUS, PhoneXS reds my phone now :) so can I just flash the firmware and will it work? I read a tutorial that said that was all you had to do.

EDIT: Right, I found out you dont need the FS file, just the firmware, look at the thread I posted and see if you can help my new problem, I think I may be using rhe wrong firmware or something, not sure. I posted up a log file BTW.

Thanks!

Here is a Samsung i320.
I used to say that I have never gone wrong buying anything from Samsung... this was my first. All that thanks to Microsoft Windows Mobile v5 that makes this phone a mess to use. :(

Here I am quoting my own post after putting that Samsung for auction on Ebay. Better luck for the next owner.

Back to something more basic with this £35 Sony Ericsson K510. bluetooth, calendar sync with outlook, makes calls and the menus don't get in the way. what was I thinking when I got that stu...smartphone?
