Did this probably 10 years ago when I volunteered in AOL's Consumer Electronics area. I think the logos were done in Infini-D, the sketch was scanned in and the whole thing colored and composited in Photoshop.
The baby looks fugley, I know... but I still like the picture.

Subject: Star Trek vs. Venom. Had some fun with this, but it never went anywhere really.
Rendered in 3D Studio Max, but imported into Photoshop for more details and compositing. Alien was a custom model done in the program Organica, and woman was a high-res Poser figure. I added her face plate in through compositing, details to her hair, and highlights and shading around both characters:
