Aloha everyone,
I acquired an old copy of Photoshop (Photoshop CS ver 8.0) and have been attempting to learn how to use it properly
I have a friend at work, one of the only two other Mac users there, who is patiently working with me a bit on one skill at a time. You can see my "work" on my Flickr page. I'm still very much a noob, so please be kind with your comments
I'm a Buccaneers fan, but did a couple 49ers iPhone wallpapers on request. As for the SUV pics, I was attempting to decide between the two and just HAD to have a decent sig I'm going with the Benz, in case you wanted to know.

Wow I sure am getting a lot of feedback on the Carli picture.
The font is Trajan Pro.
What I did is I lasso'd the horizon, and just barely stuck the name behind it.
Then what I did was duplicate the layer, flip it vertical, line it up with the bottom, and duplicate it again.(this will become the reflection)
Now one of the reflection layers I applied a ripple effect, and the other i did not.
I added a layer mask to both, and made the non ripple one blend with the rippled one.(this creates the effect that you can see bigger ripples closer up)
After that I just messed with the layer blending options and I made a reflection!
Also, the lighting is done with curves, levels, and lens flares.

An added note, I am not the photographer, the girl in the picture had her friend take it.

p.s. when moving text with the move arrow selected, use your arrow keys on the keyboard to make fine non-jumpy moves. (pixel by pixel I believe) It will help you centre things and make it look even better.
Here's something I created in one of my boredom-inspired Photoshop sessions earlier on - I'm sure you can all relate to those. I dunno what I was attempting to make or why I chose pink and blue but I think it looks alright, regardless of whether the text appears to float.

that's pretty cool. How did you create this?
Did you create the prints in photoshop with a transparency and just copied and paste all over rotated etc?
here is a wallpaper I made. I took UH out of a photo and enlarged her to fit the bigger res (since i couldn't find her in high res) then put her in front of a picture of a wall i photoshopped in.. all in front of hong kong.

you can change the IMG tag by TIMG .
I like the Hockney ..
p.s. When I hear (or see) the name Miranda all I can think about is the movie "Picnic at Hanging Rock" ...
