Girlfriend requested I drew one of her characters. 3 hours, Photoshop.
Promo art for my studios next game release. 3 hours. Unfinished at the moment, the promo campaign hasn't even kicked off yet.
Promo art for one of our next games. 2 hours.
Was a bit bored at work and whipped this up in 30 minutes or so.

100% from scratch using PSCS4 and a ton of layers, brushes, etc

I am not positive, but here is what I think I did...
-Rendered clouds
-polar coordinates
-some liquifying of the clouds shapes to get the weird background swirl things
-for the bright blue glow I made a circular gradient from light blue to transparent with a overlay blending mode
-for the lines, I used the pen and made some wavy paths, then stroked them with different brushes with different layer styles and colors with different blending modes.
-For the dots, I stroked a path with a custom settings brush tip set with high scattering and random size scattering with "simulate pressure" mode on.
