just got the dell lcd today, 20.1 inch widescreen :)

I didn't know you could off-set the two screen so that one is lower then the other and still have all the open application windows line up. You have the powerbook screen lower, but the safari page shows up on both screen as even across. I thought they could only be setup to be lined up at the edges, either on top or on the sides and that would make the page come out in the middle of the Dell screen.

My 15" Powerbook, with my new iSight and Wireless mouse. I have to say that the wireless mouse has exceeded my expectations by far, it is incredible.

Oh and there is a Lacie drive lurking behind there :p

yep, took a little fiddling in the displays pane of system prefs to line it up right, but its pretty easy. i've got the pbook sitting on top of a cd spindle top, and it actually works pretty well, looks reasonably good, increases surface area for the pbook bottom to disperse heat, and best of all, it didnt cost me anything. I'm going to boost it up with something to line it up better, i think it'll look better.

Here is my PB 15" setup.

On top of the TV there is an old Sony Vaio laptop that I use as an IIS server for web dev work, on top of that there is a D-Link Wireless ADSL router and next to that there is a DVDRW drive and a Maxtor HDD in a USB2 drive caddy.

And dont forget the nifty n-gage...o wait you need a regular cell to cause the n-gage is a awful phone. Sorry I like the comp setup though cluttered but whatever.

17" Powerbook

Here's a set of pics of my 17" powerbook setup in my dorms. I got it hooked up to a 17" CRT that's for my PC which I don't really use that much (its just folding right now, looking to sell it.) I wanna get a 20" Apple Cinema display.

Powerbook's on an iCurve, and things you can't see in the pics are my HP 7350 photosmart and an old HP Laserjet 4 Plus.

yeah, the plan was that i know i have a usb keyboard floating around my house somewhere, and i was to find it, and use it. but, i havent gotten around to looking yet, so for right now, i'm just looking slightly to the left when typing to see the screen. bit of a silly set up truth be told, but, apparently it hasnt bugged me enough to spend some time to go find the keyboard. :) i'm sure it'll get to me eventually, though.

Hey Chris, how do those speakers work for you? I had thought about getting those to go with my iMac because I was looking to upgrade...

I've actually been really happy with them (Logitech Z3e). There's enough kick from the sub and clear enough sound from the sats to be more than adequate for desktop listening.

I just added that second monitor tonight, it's from my old PC I scrapped... need to figure out how to use them together effectively....

ya .. i'm getting a powerbook for next september and scrapping (sorta) my G4 tower, i'm keeping for the scanner since the scanner is SCSI and i'm not about buy a USB one ...

anyway -- i can't really see the point in having two monitors when working on a paper

well unless i've got a document open on one screen, and a net article in the other

i'm more interested in using it for Final Cut Pro -- have one screen open with the viewer, canvas and browser on the bottom and the have the second monitor used for the Timeline.

I can't wait -- i'm sure it'll look nice with this Lacie monitor <-- i love this thing
