yeah but the cube was just wayyyyyyy to small and not powerfull enough to drive that 23 inch that well

With a GeForce 3 it can drive it pretty well. It has more than enough electrical power to drive the 23". The Cube has a power supply that is just over 200 watts. Even a fully upgraded Cube with a dual 1.8Ghz upgraded G4 only ever uses about 75 watts. The 23" is rated for a maximum draw of 90 watts. That leaves plenty of extra power for doing nothing with. Almost makes one think that Apple at one time thought about making even bigger ADC displays.

I think they originally thought about making 27inch 30 inch and 32inch displays

They would have been nice. But Apple stopped using the ADC design because the 23" maxed out the rating of the internal connection or something with its power draw.

You woulda thought they would of figured that out before they started making them in the first place

My semi-powerpc setup!

This is my studio desk setup. Got my Power Mac G5 running OS X 10.5.8, complete with iLife '09 and Adobe CS2 :D. It unfortunatley has a little damage to the top handle bar being damaged in it's delivery.
(Got a nice modern MacBook Pro there running OS X 10.8.3 also of course ;))

What kind of work does the G5 actually do ?

whats the specs

A samsung monitor? Shame on you. :ugly:

Shame? Well I have this one and a Packard bell one with a higher resolution, but rubbish colours. After getting my first mac, it made my really appreciate colors in a monitor, even over resolution is many cases. You think I wouldn't hesitate to throw it away to replace it with one of those lovely old cinema displays?
Don't worry, I'm still on the same team ;)

(I'm no Samsung fan, but their monitors are far higher quality than the likes of Packard Bell, even if they don't know how not to make a hideous looking product)

Wow, that's a really nice setup, damn it looks beautiful.
Now you've gone and made me want one of those displays -.-
Or maybe a few, to replace my Alu 20" ACDs.

They Seem to only look good when paired with earlier Quicksliver and mdd models, the g5s are too modern looking to pair well with the retro

I actually think it looks really nice with that G5 in that photo.
Maybe it's the rest of the workspace that does it for me.
