Next step: Synergy. 3 PCs, one keyboard and mouse, move mouse from Linux to Mac to Windows.

Very slick.

Very slick indeed, but a bit of a pain if you need to login after a reboot since that usually requires a direct connected keyboard.

I don't see how operating 3 systems with their own keyboards/mouse is efficient at all.

Back when I ran synergy, I kept the mouse/keyboards wrapped up on top of each system for just such an occasion. Right now, I'm just using my Mini and then using RDP to my Windows box that I'm ripping my movie collection on, as well as the server I'm building. I LOVE THIS NEW MINI!

The new Mini is awesome. I went from this setup: Gateway Desktop with dual monitors and synergy to a Power Mac G5 tower so I could still use OS X. To this: Mac Mini with 2 cinema displays and a Windows virtual machine for when I need Windows at work.

I much prefer the mini with dual displays vs the G5 and PC with synergy.

I'm typing this on my 2009 Mini with 2x 24" Samsungs.

I had Windows in a VM for Office, but 2008 isn't as heinous as it was on my G4, so I haven't turned on the VM. But I do with a fully feature compatible version of Visio was available since I need it for work. Well, I don't need it, but diagramming networks and racks is a hell of a lot easier than drawing it. :D

Here's my setup this minute. I just used the iphone to take the picture. Sorry it's so dark.

Notice the paperweight on the left, the netbook my work gave to me. It's connected to the 23" monitor. I use it about once a month.

Yes I really am this clean.

We work from home most of the time. I'm no photographer (that's obvious), so I just stood in the room and circled around to show the space...
and yes... those are my drums!
ooo nice :D
i need one of those sheet music stands. i usually end up using my toms as one and just use my kit as a 4 piece.

Is that a MacBook Pro sitting on the floor? When I am in the server room at my job I always bring a crappy Dell with me, or at the very least leave my Mac on a shelf. Seems like everything gets banged up in those rooms because of all the heavy equipment and hard floors.

Mine was pretty cheap and I picked it up at a small "mom and pop" music store.

Damn dude what do you do with all the ethernet lines?
My room, 3 to dad's office, 1 to the den, all those ports in there for the servers, 3 in the game room + one for the printer in there, the wifi routers.

Then there is an 8 port switch in my room with a line going to my bed, desk and the 24 port switch pictured. Major geek house wiring right?
