I'm in the process of moving so pardon the mess. Living room is temporary until I get around to mounting it and bringing theatre components.

Can't wait till I have everything in place, this move is killing me... So much more to get done.

the wall mounted tvs look so nice mounted on the wall with the wires hidden into the wall. It just doesnt look good when you use wire track runners to hide them.

I want to do the wires in the wall, but the more i read about it the more complicated it got. specifically because of fire codes. you cant just run the plug into the wall. even the dvi cables have to be a certain kind. Its not my house so I have to go by the fire code in case anything happens.

Maybe in February I will pay an electrician to install a plug behind the tv. then it would just be a matter of dvi cables. anyone know what the typical cost if there is a plug below it near the floor to install one higher up.

I added the outlet behind the TV myself, it's part of what I do. Speaker wire should be CL2 rated if you are doing surround. The only wires I have running down the wall are 2 HDMI cables (one is a spare as the receiver carries all signals in one HDMI wire).

Updated pic with center channel, PS3 and receiver added:

Living room TV is mounted but I still have work to do concealing newly installed cable:

most these tvs seem kinda high but mine is up high as well. top of my tv sits at about 6 inches below inside doorway opening height. it is perfectly watchable though. i just have ugly cables hanging down :(((

This is also the stereo system for a game room that is connected with french double doors. Wires were left over after I got everything hooked up, I had to stand on the couch to get the picture.

This thread puts me to shame...My place is going to HAVE to get sorted out and soon.

I'm not posting any more shot's until I do it. But the TV is A Toshiba Regza 42" Smart.

ATV etc, cables everywhere. It's time to hit ikea for sure.

Just finished moving in and getting everything set up. Here's what I'm looking at for now. Had outlet installed behind the TV...rest of wires running through the wall.

Not the best photos due to light and also my not wanting to clean up.

Upstairs - 55" Toshiba LED, Onkyo receiver, Samsung Blu-Ray, Tannoy speakers:
