Anybody still on the challenge? I'm still rocking my a1138 powerbook as my main machine. I switched from the Quad G5 as the heat generated from it and our arriving summer temperatures do not mix.

Not sure if I'm taking part in a PPC challenge, but I'm using 15" PowerBooks a1106 as daily drivers, but dipping into a 2012 MacBook Pro for things like syncing my iPhone SE and internet TV as necessary.
There's not much else I can't do on the PowerBooks; I even have my old EyeTV running for live television.

Cheers :)

VPN/Win-RDP to my Office-network, streaming video and synching iOS keep my tightend to my early-2008 A1260 15" MBP.
For most of the rest G4/Leopard - or after some tinkering even G3/os9 - do fine.
Had some fun with old eyeTV last night too, watching some of my recorded films on 15" PowerBook ...

Unless I'm at work I can totally do this. I use PPC macs a lot anyways.
I'd probably use my sawtooth for most things, unless I need my G5 for something. The past few days I've been using a beige G3 quite a bit.

If you mean V8 - have you found a solution eventually?
Had to look up the post from February 2019, no I gave up back then but there was a new fork of OpenConnect which does the SAML redirect (well on x86 linux) and there is gp-saml-gui also now.

Haven't tried any of those on OS X or Linux PPC however in the past years, had no real use for it , just to show off that my older machine could connect to our work VPN, Getting work done on all those Java/Flash based GUI interfaces however would have not been possible on a PPC machine, and since all stupid vendors are moving away from CLI configuration ....

I see, got it. I need V8 for some R functionality, not for the web.
