Ordered! Having it all delivered around Feb 2, got lenses with it. Everything maxed out, plus lots of accessories. All in just under $5,400 with taxes. Can’t wait! Very excited… 👍🏻 (I’ve been very frugal & saving up for this.) My face scan took longer than I expected it to, lots of failures — having to turn lighting on all around me did the trick.

Ordered! Choose to pick it up in store that evening. The appointment times filled up very quickly. I could have also chosen to get it delivered, but usually deliveries don't get to me until the evening anyways so I figured I might as well have them show me how to use it by picking it up.
Imagine how many real life experiences you could get for what you’ll spend on this nonsense. You could’ve donated the money to an animal shelter or spend some time with your loved ones, but that’s just my “old fart” mentality limited view. I suppose the young farts don’t think seeing the real world with their own eyes matters anymore. Remember kids, Darth Vader’s last wish was to see his son with his own eyes ;)

So that means you were only ~11 years old in 2007. Life is generally simpler and better when you’re a kid. 🤣
Yep, but I could tell that people were also generally more present. My perception of this didn't change, people changed. I know this because I can see people, especially the really older people who never got used to being constantly on their phones, remained the same. Present, focused, easy. My younger brother born in 2006, unfortunately, spent his whole childhood playing some games on iPads or iPhones (bad parenting, I know). It's not his fault, but he can't go a minute without it today. You can't talk to him in person the way you can via texting, he opens up differently through his phone, it's insane. Maybe I'm just weird, but I don't think people slapping this on their face will make things better. It just helps to distract people more, numb the mind if not with drugs, then with tech. This is scary, I don't know why I think I'll stop everyone from buying this by posting a comment about how dumb it is 😄 But at least I let it out. It's a bad product. It's fascinating, new, different, but it's bad. It won't connect us, it will separate us further away from each other and from life. I'm already sorry for the kids born today, this is their future. It's also not a new invention or anything, it's just a polished VR headset. It won't reinvent the wheel, it won't change how we work, it's not like a big scary computer will take us all down. I'm only freaked out by this because it's Apple, and people go crazy over Apple. Apple will take this to a different level, especially with their intense and quite creepy marketing. Look at these people in those ads, so freaking creepy! I remember iPod or iPhone ads were so nice, remember the Christmas ad for the iPhone? At least that was gentle and actually artistic 😄 These ads are cringy as hell! Spooky.

Or a 16” MBP M3 Max with 128G of RAM, 2TB SSD and Apple Care. Just trying to keep things in perspective.

The only loved ones I have are the hundreds of animals I adopted from ALL the animal shelters in my area last year. I bought a few robots from Tesla to spend time them so that I don't have to. This was after I donated a crap ton of money the year before to a biomedical firm that invented a cure to unwanted animal births. So between that and adopting all the animals, all the shelters closed since there were no more unwanted animals running around. Also, I can't really tell you what the young farts are thinking, because I'm an old fart myself. And as for Darth Vader, I commend him... but look where his last wish got him.

I feel most people will order this and then return it within 14 days.
Except, by then, they now have your FACE (to get it) and RETINA (to use it) biometric info. Even if the info is stored on the device, if you hand over the device (returning it), you're handing them your retina info. Say what you will, but I know Apple can access that info one way or another. It's not locked away from the very people who MADE the device. Corporations are not that honest. Not Apple, not anyone.

Careful. They will sap all of our precious bodily fluids!
