As best as I can tell, this is not a bug specific to iOS 11.1, but rather, a bug which ends up spreading like a virus.

If you receive messages with the offending text replacement, your iPhone will learn the behavior, and will begin having the same problem. It is entirely possible that if this bug was discovered 6 months ago, people would be complaining about it with iOS 10.whatever.
Agreed. Never had the issue until it cropped up on my wife's phone last night. This morning it was happening to me. Installing 11.1.1 now.

Hey guys,

My wife has an iPhone 7+ running on iOS 11.0.3 and she has an issue with autocorrect that, for some reason, started doing this autocorrect when she tries to write the Dutch word “op”. For some reason iOS wants to turn the word “op” into “O.P”...

Her keyboard is set to Dutch.
I checked the shortcut list, it’s not in there.
I reset the Keyboard dictionary(?) but nothing seems to help.

Weird thing is that it never did that before. Just since a couple of days.

I run an iPhone 6S on iOS 11.0.3, also with Dutch keyboard and I don’t have this issue at all.

Does anyone know how to fix this? Cause “op” is used pretty often in Dutch...

My wife had this bug in Dutch settings, the 11.1.1 update seems to have fixed it

I agree - fixed on my iPhone but I still get it on my Mac - even after upgrading to High Sierra. Except I only get it on incoming texts. The same text on my iPhone looks fine, and it looks fine on the sender's phone. But on my MacBook Pro 2017 running high Sierra, I get the A and symbol thing. I've tried to just let it roll thinking it will be fixed, but it's NOT!!
