What shipping options were there (through ATT Premier)? I forgot. I thought all orders were being shipped next day, so why pay extra?

Standard is 2nd day. $15 to upgrade to next day. Looks like if you aren't a premier customer overnight is standard but when you receive a service discount they get you where they can.
 
Update: AT&T just charged my CC, and they appear to have waived the $36 activation fee which was not waived on my invoice. No chance to either of the status pages yet.

Same here. I was just charged for 2 iPhones. AND they did say it would only charge when shipped.....so....it could mean overnight shipping?

They did it about a half hour ago.
 
I ordered through Premier on the 10th as an upgrade. The order still shows processing/backordered. I called tonight and was told that all orders were shipping on Friday, which is the release date. I asked about the shipping method, since they are all supposed to be shipped overnight, and I was told that it would be shipping 2nd day, because I didn't choose the $15 overnight option.

Correct, it is 2nd day for premier or overnight for regular at&t customers and orders through apple directly. While it sucks ill pay $15 for shipping to save 21% a month on service.

The order has changed, and the backorder status is now 0.

update: literally a minute later... lol... i just checked my Att.com order status and it is no long on backordered as well. I placed my order on the 9th around 2 pm. although, i still have no activity on my bank account.

I placed my order on the Premier site on June 10th.
 
Same with mine. Looks like they are getting ready to update with ship numbers tomorrow.

Unfortunately I didn't get the option when I ordered the phone to do overnight shipping (did 2nd day as the default) so it looks like I won't get it till Monday.

Screwed for being a "premier" customer, yet again.

Those of you referring to 2nd day shipping...are you just going off what the Premier site at check-out, because nothing about this process has been customized for the iPhone whatsoever like it has on Apple and ATT (mention of the 19th specifically). If if was 2 day shipping they would have (should have) sent them out earlier today. Come to think of it, I don't think I even had a shipping choice.

Or did a rep tell you? Everyone is getting told different things from reps. shipping on the 19th/shipping for delivery on the 19th; next day/second day blah blah blah. Hopefully we get tracking numbers tomorrow (not that they've been very accurate).

Edit: here is a response from AT&T on their Facebook page regarding Premier orders and delivery date. Same "as early as" language but no different from Apple/ATT orders who will get their phones on the 19th.

AT&T at 1:36pm June 17: All customers, including premier customers, will get an email with tracking information. A Web Order Number is provided when the order is submitted in Premier that the customer can use to check the status of their order online. Once the device has been shipped, another email will be sent to you with shipping tracking information. All orders placed via business channels on or before June 12th will begin to arrive as early as the 19th. Orders placed after the 12th will arrive 7-14 days after the order was placed.
 
i know, me too. I didn't select overnight. I figured, why even have the option if we should be able to get our orders the 19th and not earlier. But then all this happened.......we all know the rest.....
 
I think maybe the Premier (or at least AT&T) finally got the phones, so they are no longer backordered and will begin shipping to us sometime soon!
Its funny how moving from backordered to only In Progress is exciting for us LOL

Ya from what ive heard, Reps are ill informed but rather than saying "I dont know" they say what they are told to say. I personally have dealt with numerous reps while trying to order/track my iphone and their range of knoledge on the subject ranged from expert to what i would expect John Mcains knoledgeon the subject to be.

I say everyone relax, worrying will not change the day your phone arrives, lets just wait and see..... all we can do now.

I believe I had the overnight ($15) or 2-day ($0) option, and I selected 2-day since I thought it was going to arrive on the 19th regardless.

The rep I spoke with said that they will mail them according to two day and overnight selections, though. So, I should've selected overnight and not just assumed that since Apple waived the express fee, since all preorders are supposed to be delivered on 19th, so would AT&T.

What you failed to take into account was the AT&T douche factor. Apple store preorders didn't even have to pay a shipping charge and they are getting theirs the 19th.
 
The only shipping option I have on my premier site is usps 2nd day. If they ship tommorrow at least the PO delivers on Saturday.

In all fairness to ATT, i think it is because Apple designed their sales site for the iphone from the ground up and ATT stuck it into its existing sales site which by defult asks what kind of shipping one wants on their phone.

Yay for me being a new AT&T customer! I don't have a phone, a credit card charge, or a tracking number, but I already love these guys. :rolleyes:

Pretty easy to disable a radio button. They've disabled and had the whole thing in and out of maintenance on the 9th-10th. Taking care of a shipping choice should've been a breeze.
 
I have major iPhone blue balls.

I think the Premier people are generally misinformed. The one I talked "researched" the questions I was asking them for maybe five minutes three separate times. So, at least they took the time to find the answer out. They said my order was shipping on the 18th via FedEx but could not tell me if it was overnight or 2-day, even from looking at my invoice/order#. here is the transcript (I cut out the lines that said "BRB researching your question") from earlier today:

Me: I know you guys are probably being inundated with iPhone questions. But I can't seem to find out when Premier orders will be delivered to customers

Temilko M: I'd be more than happy to assist you with this. You stated that your order is on backorder?

Me: Yes, according to 'https://www.wireless.att.com/order_status/order_status_results.jsp'

Me: i checked the status of my port (from T-Mobile) and it has gone through

Temilko M: I do apologize for the inconvenience. To better assist with the details on your order you will have to contact Order Management Center 1-866-499-8008 option 3 and then 2. This department will be able to assist you.

Me: Yes when I do that it says "we are having technical difficulties please try back later." I tried about 10 times throughout the day

Temilko M: I will see if I can find out anything. I do apologize again.

Me: I would appreciate that

Temilko M: The order will be shipped out on 06/18/09

Me: That is great news. Is this the case for all orders placed through Premier?

Temilko M: No, it is different shipment times going according to when the order was placed.

Me: Ok, so it's going out the 18th, for delivery on the 19th? I realize you can't make guarantees, but is the order being shipped overnight as it says on the normal ATT web site? Thanks

Temilko M: I do apologize, I can not guarantee that. The Premier site and the AT&T regular site is different.

Me: I understand. Are you able to tell me the type of shipping service? (Overnight, 2-day, Ground, etc.)

Temilko M: Federal express is the shipping carrier.

Temilko M: I do apologize but I am unable to see what type of service it is. You can contact Orders Management Center to assist with this issue. I apologize again.

Me: That's quite alright. You've been a big help and I appreciate you looking into all this for me.

not shipped no tracker

Order on the 12th. Plane lands in one hour in KY.
SO after one hour we'll get our tracking number.

If not then I guess hope for the 19th to arrive. Or have a Bit*h fit.
