Prepared for Shipment Finally!!!

Just gone Prepared for Shipment, ordered 4/14 03:58 PM PDT. Come on, tracking number!
 
Well, that will be the real news, because we will know (1) what carrier and (2) what service. (I.e., if FedEx, 'real' FedEx, Priority, normal daytime, if UPS....)

(Oh yeah, Prepared, and 8:32 on Day 1; the rest you can see)
 
mine now says prepared for shipment!

Jut noticed my order status now reads prepared for shipment. Which means Friday arrival if they ship priority wednesday - I HOPE!

Prepared for shipment Finally! I'm in Middle Tennessee and placed my ordered on April 5th.

IPAD WI-FI + 3G 64GB
 
I don't know about the 9to5 Mac thing about them shipping... I don't see why they would send ground, and leave them in the system this long... plus it depends on where they are shipping from.

Now, I just realized that FedEx International Priority, which delivers in 1,2,or 3 days to the US, makes sense.
- It shows as priority in our shipping type (doesn't necessarily mean I am 100% right, but it is a factor)
- If they are shipping internationally and they are starting now, they could be shipping to areas with certain availability times or possibly by shipping certain ones at certain times, like with the WiFi version (the first, initial batch sat in Hong Kong forever until being processed and shipped out at the end of the pack).

So we will see how things go in the next few hours / tomorrow morning, when that magical (no pun intended xD) 5:00 AM EST rolls around, as that is when people usually get shipping notices... at least, for deliveries from China - as it is 5 PM there at that time and it is their shipping cutoff for UPS and FedEx...

Good question. Either they have been on their way for a while and Apple is holding out on giving us the tracking numbers, or they are already situated in various locations across the US. I would assume that something would have leaked out by a UPS or FedEX employee about locked trailers and cloak & dagger stuff going on. We are likely talking about 100K+ 3G iPads, and that is a hell of a lot of iPads to have to put under lock and key.
 
More than likely a lot of these iPads are still sitting in China. I ordered the Wi-Fi version also and it didn't leave China until 04/02/10, I received it on 04/03/10.
 
Hmm, my status changed to "JUST GO INTO THE STORE, QUEUE UP WITH EVERYONE ELSE FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS, INSTEAD OF HAVING TO LINGER AT HOME OR WORK NERVOUSLY AND MISS OUT ON FANCY PUBLIC EXPOSURE."

Must be just me.

If it says FedEx Ground, it most likely means the theory about the iPad 3G's already being in warehouses is true. What i think is that when the cutoff date began, they started shipping these to warehouses around the US so they could have enough for April 30. The May 7 ones are likely still in China.
 
Me too, just checked after reading the thread title! I'm guessing its going to ship tomorrow, as the same thing happened with my case and keyboard dock; they shipped the same/next day. Keep checking your in-boxes!

Better watch out for the "Apple Police!" They may mistake yours for a next generation iPad....

Nice bit of time-travel there. :D I guess Apple is going to ship them this coming Monday so they'll be here on the 30th.;)
 
Mine changed sometime this evening when I was at dinner to prepared status. Yay! I ordered the 64GB 3G at 9:30pm on April 6th and it's coming here to Atlanta!!

Oddly enough My bank doesn't show that my payment has gone through. I had a pre-auth last week, but it dropped off on sunday and hasn't re-appeared.

It will happen, possibly tonight at midnight. Some banks are weird. My Amex card was charged in full, and posted today already.
