Since tone doesn't translate well on the web, I could be wrong. To me, it sounds like the excitement is a bit excessive, bordering on childish. I swear some of you sleep, eat, and breath iPad.
If I didn't know better, I would have thought I accidentally stumbled into Nickelodeon message board and you all just found out that Hannah Montana was coming to town.

Hey i'm 15 months into a nasty divorce.... with the other party still living under the same roof.... really, i'm ENTITLED to be excited about something right?
Because, it isn't exciting that i'm about to celebrate my 2nd anniversary since filing for divorce.
But I bought myself an iPad for my 18th anniversary.... excuse me while i'm excited!!
After seeing this thread, I checked my order and my 32 gb iPad ordered day 1 about 1 hour after ordering opened is 'Prepared for Shipment' also, with delivery on April 3.
However, like many others, the dock and case ordered at the same time are marked 'not yet shipped,' but still says ships by April 3.

Maybe you could just avoid the iPad sub-forum if you don't want to read about iPad excitement?
Why do you feel the need to post this? If you think it is excessive excitement then leave. Nothing you say is going to change how people feel about the iPad. This is a mac forum. It is a place where people come to interact with others who share the same passion and excitement for the Apple brand and products. The reason it looks like a big circle jerk is because that's exactly what it is. If you've got a problem with it then don't let the door hit ya on the way out.
I swear, posts like this really amaze me. It's about the same as if I had walked into a bar and been shocked that there were people drinking. Uh, that's what it is for...
I rather not turn this into an argument, but I prefer threads where people actual converse about news and ideas.
There have been tons of my status changed, my card is charged, i ordered wifi because I can't wait for 3g posts to last a lifetime.
Maybe I asking too much to actually have an intelligent conversation about the device instead of all the silliness. I get people are excited, but the multiple threads saying "I'm excited" are a bit much.
Fair enough. I do think it's a useful type of thread. People can see that others' iPads are moving. That's why I edited by first post in the thread to include the time I ordered mine. But seriously, there will be dozens of threads about shipping/tracking/status in the coming days. I doubt all of that would or even could be confined to one thread. Page One will be full of them, too.
Uh, we were. The news being those people who have had their order status changed to "Prepared for Shipment". The fact you don't think that's news, doesn't make it less newsworthy.
OK, then go give me your thoughts on my printing thread from yesterday. I *tried* to have a serious conversation..... but no one wanted to play. It's kinda hard at this point TO have one. No reviews with real world feedback... we have speculated as much as we can i think.
So, back to being excited. Because, then, we can have real conversations.
Besides, the wifi that is "moving" is for my 14yo daughter - how many 14yo girls gave their mom's a big hug today upon hearing their iPad made it into a box with a shipping label???

Although that probably just means that they are sitting at the end of the dock somewhere with their tracking labels on waiting to be scanned out the door ... on the 2nd.
