Why would the GBP rate impact Euro currency countries?

OECD today predicted basically zero economic growth across Europe as a result of energy shortage and inflation. What’s happening economically in the UK isn’t much different from the rest of the continent.

Price for iPhone 13 is $100 cheaper in US now, but stayed the same in EU. 🤨

Exchange rate issues. The Euro has been steadily losing ground against the dollar for whatever reason.

$1000=1036 euro today
$1000=854 euro a year ago

What IS up with the dollar vs euro right now? Is it perceived short-term stability due to the fact we don't need Russian oil? I don't know jack about currency markets but this one seems interesting.

Long term fundamental issues across EU. Germany is strongest in the EU and their output replies on skilled labor paired with inexpensive energy. That economic model is shot. ECB unable/unwilling to increase interest rates to fight inflation. Then there are a number of deadweight member states.
