Until the non-pro has a 120hz screen, it’s an absolute 100% no from me. I wouldn’t even consider it.

It’s quite frankly appalling that Apple are using this as point of difference between the two models, when you can go and buy a $100 android with a 120hz screen.

If I decide to upgrade from the 13 Pro Max it will be for the 16 Pro.

I‘d like a lighter phone (240g on 13 PM vs 199g on 16 Pro) along with easier one-handed operation.

I would need to go with the Pro since the regular 16 doesn’t have 120htz display.

I have a 13PM too and if I go for a new released iPhone, it’ll most likely be the 16P too. Can’t get my head around the cost of the 16PM tbh. Also looking at the deals on the 15PM now it’s becoming cheaper. Undecided at this point but have the money to buy any phone I want, I just have to be happy with the purchase.

I’m debating going from the 14 Plus to the base 16. My favorite iPhone I ever had was the XR and I’m thinking it was that 6.1 inch display that made me love it. I could care less about 60 vs 120 hz. I never opt for Pro or Pro Max models.

If you compare both in 256gb it’s actually only $150AUD
The 16 with 256gb is AUD$1599 and the 16 Pro with 256gb is AUD$1999. Every Pro version is AUD$400 more than its base counterpart. Not sure where you are getting your figures?

Promotion the only reason to go pro

Which makes me wonder: what is going to happen to the non-Pro phones once they get ProMotion? That is what is rumored to happen with the 17. Maybe they will get rid of them entirely and the choices next generation will be Pro vs. Air, and thinness will be the deciding factor rather than refresh rate.

So the base 16+ is $899 and the base 16PM is $1199 making it $300. That + my current watch trade in gets me a new watch instead of an extra camera I don’t use, lidar again I don’t use, the “coveted” 120hz display that I truly don’t even notice between my different electronics, and the always on display that I personally find annoying. Plus I get to have a phone with a little personality as something I have with me all the time.

PS. maybe don’t comment on others finances as you never know what’s around the corner for yourself.

$900 for 16+ is 256gb, $1200 for 16PM is $512gb, if you do apple to apple it's $200 not $300 difference. 16+ will be missing 5x telephoto, 5-6 hours battery life, pro motion, faster processor, better qualcomm modem, etc..

PS: i was just giving my opinion and dont give two shts about your finances, do whatever you want, stop being so defensive

The 16 Pro is bigger than the 15 Pro. It‘s not all about smaller bezels. Apple increased the size.
I'm still using an iPhone XR, as it's been more reliable than any previous iPhone I've owned and has done a good job. It's out of storage now and the battery life has degraded quite a lot, so it's time for an upgrade. But I've noticed that the iPhone 16 Pro with a 6.3" display is actually smaller than the XR with its 6.1" screen, due to the reduced bezels.

I'm tempted to go from my 15 Pro to a normal 16 this time, if I upgrade at all. I realized I don't use any of the advanced photo/video features, and I value lighter-weight phones (I loved my 13 mini, though not its battery life). I'd miss the always-on display, but maybe not as much as I think. Hmm.
Same. I had a 13 mini then 14 Pro then 15 Pro Max and now getting a normal 16 in Teal.

I went from an 8+ to a base 12 over the weight, then to a 14 Pro because I missed having the telephoto lens.

But the battery life on the 14 Pro was only 'fine' to start and now with the battery aging it's really not enough. Trying to decide if the 16 Pro's boost will be enough to be 'fine' in two years, or if I should just go with the Plus. The Pro Max weight is more than I want to deal with.

(or just replace the battery in my 14P and wait another year).

Once you've experienced 120Hz, you can't go back. For those with a 120Hz Pro phone, try enabling power saving to disable it and see how horrendous it is. I suppose if you've never experienced it, then you don't know, so ignorance is bliss!
I see this online alot on Twitter. I had the Pro and standard 15 model. Most people don't notice. I used both sorry but to most there is NO difference

Personally don’t care about promotion on my iPhone. I have it on my M4 iPad Pro and it’s very nice there but I use my phone for music, banking & payments, instagram and WhatsApp and that’s about it.

My iPad is much nicer for browsing. Coming from a regular 13 and deciding to go for the regular 16 or wait 1 more year.
‘the battery is starting to go down a bit which is really the only reason for upgrading. That and those colors are great this year

My husband is going for the 16 Pro I think in white. He can't decide between Max or regular. We've always gone for the bigger size since the 6 Plus came out, but he's eyeing the 6.3 as a decent size and better in the hand than 6.9. Any thoughts?
I currently have a 15 Plus in pink and I'm being cheeky and upgrading most likely to a 16 plus in Pink. Husband is trying to convince to be get a Pro for the longevity, but I don't need a Pro, and the Pink plus is sooooo nice
