If anyone is on the fence between the two sizes I would say get the pro max and see what you think. It really isn’t as big as the pages and pages and pages of discussions would make it out to be. I went from X to 14PM and it really doesn’t feel huge. If anything the X now looks and feels small.
It really depends on the size of your hands and how use your phone though. For some people Pro Max is unwieldy and also may be too much phone for what they do, while others it’s perfect.

One really needs to try these devices in store before giving the money.

I like my iPhone 13 Pro Max, there will be times I wish for a smaller phone but the vast majority of the time it isn’t an issue. For everyone it’s different though, and I’m glad Apple offers the smaller size as well.

When the iPhone 6 and 6+ were released I sold my 5s, switched to the largest screen size, and haven’t looked back. I’ll continue buying the + or Max size iPhones as long as they’re close to this size.

This is the reason I started the thread. Experiences such as yours were making me worry about getting the larger phone. I haven’t got particularly large hands either and with a silicone case on the 14PM I find one handed use possible especially with the swipe keyboard.

I agree it’s not as easy as a smaller phone but it’s not awful either.
Everyone’s experiences and preferences will be a bit different. I will say since I have had a child, one handed use of my phone has become a much higher priority as so often one hand is all I have free. That’s why when the 12 came out I went for the Mini but I actually found that to be slightly too small for my hands, the 6.1” size seems like a Goldilocks fit—just right.

Depends how you carry your phone too, if a guy and have to pocket it for work etc a pro would be better, I rarely pocket it, use it at home/office/car, also like the max for typing, Mrs has her max in a handbag so could be mini 6 size lol. My 20 year old daughter loves her mini, offered her my 13 max as an a excuse to get a 14 pro, but nope not interested.

The Pro Max is a very nice device to use, but it’s rather heavy and cumbersome if you’re carrying it in trouser pockets. My wife has just bought the 13 Pro Max and wants to swap with my 13 Pro after just a week. I deliberately picked the Pro but may soon be back to not being by able to sit down with a phone in my pocket lol. I think phone size is one of those subjects where it’s completely subjective and you have to try the sizes out to see how you get on to be honest.

I bought both sizes and am having a really hard time deciding which to keep. While everything bein larger in the screen (including keyboard) is nice it feel really cumbersome to handle and lack some of the intimacy of holding a regular pro phone.

Worst case to me is reading in bed where the max is just too heavy and unstable to hold in one hand - let alone really hard to reach both top of screen as well as edge of keyboard when typing. And I’m and average male with pretty large hands…

Strongly disagree. Pro Max is huge and uncomfortable to me. I can barely use the device one-handed and it’s straining to do it. I don’t have small hands. I agree you get used to the bigger size, but the Pro is much more ergonomic unless you have pretty large hands or are comfortable using two hands the majority of the time. I’m happy that it works for you though. The larger display and battery life are huge pluses.

I went from 13 pro to 14 pro max. I’ve had the 12 pro max before that. I think they should have made the 14 pro max a 6.8 screen.
I use my phones two handed most of the time.

I’m not in the market for a phone this year but if I was this year in particular I would go with the Pro Max.

The relative size of the camera bump and the dynamic island make them seem huge on every 14 Pro YouTube video I’ve seen so far. On the Pro Max the sizes seem much more reasonable.

Luke Miani covers it perfectly in this video. The new camera bump and dynamic island feel like they were designed with the Pro Max size in mind, not the pro.

Obviously if you hate the pro max size that’s all irrelevant.

I personally prefer the pro smaller size, but my eyesight disagrees with me and prefers the pro max larger size.

Many of you don't have that problem yet, lucky lot 😁

Coming from an iPhone 12 Pro Blue to an iPhone 14 Pro Max Space Black.

It’s incredible how people buy macbook air vs macbook pro due to less weight although worse features but no one is thinking about buying 14 plus instead of 14 pro max. After 24 hours with 14 pro max, the worst part to me is the weight. Simply too much…I have both cases, silicone and leather and being resting in bed trying to hold the phone to watch a movie, ufff it’s slippery!

Really looking forward to hold 14 plus in my hand. Take into account that I’m coming from 11 pro max, so I’m not going to miss promotion.

I had the regular 13 before and now the 14PM and I’m so happy! PM is definitely big and a bit heavy but I’m already used to it and absolutely love the extra screen real estate

I was thinking the same thing. I’m not sure I could give up the promotion and telephoto camera. But the iPhone 14 plus is very tempting just for the ability to have a large but not so heavy phone.
