I never got it finished. I don’t know how to finish it as it’s a shell script. How’s the script coming along?
Were you able to get 9A303 to work fully? So I see what you mean about the newer versions, I managed to get the installer to boot, but it hangs at a blue screen then shuts off. This is on all versions past 9a303.
Oh geez. What media did you use to install it? I’m curious.I have 9a303 installed on my 900MHz, Finder constantly crashes but it did fully install. By "constantly crashes," I mean constantly. Every single second.
Ah. I never had success with a USB install.I used a USB flash drive that I've used on that same iBook before to install 9.2.2 and 10.4.11 successfully.

how did you modified the OSinstall.mpkg? textedit seems unable to read it... And I couldn't find any OSmodelCheck inside it9A241 is easier to work with, although it is less compatible with newer software. Finder is at least 99 percent stable with that build.
Which build are you trying to modify?how did you modified the OSinstall.mpkg? textedit seems unable to read it... And I couldn't find any OSmodelCheck inside it
You too sir are a miracle worker!I swear, there's really something about this place.
Not even twelve days into membership, and our newest member has just written a semi-comprehensive installation guide in just over one hour's time, all from his own initiative. And he's not even done!
@556fmjoe You weren't kidding when you said that this forum makes things happen! You people are some of the most driven individuals I've ever seen!

I'm thinking of posting some modified files for everyone. It'll take a hot minute though. The same as you did
Been away for a while… any new updates?
Here’s Arctic Fox.
I was able to edit the mpkg contents by showing the OSInstall.mpkg contents and opening OSInstall.dist in textedit.Had to use the Unarchiver to extract BaseSystem.pkg because of this.
Also it looks like we can’t edit OSInstall.mpkg like we could for both 9a241 and 9a303.
