You all don´t get it, right? 11.2.2= Spectre fix or you give a f*** about security.

This is one main reason I use Apple products.

Who cares about Spectre fix when the damn device has atrocious battery life and hideous performance issues
People who are not stupid and care about security? To slow? It is time to upgrade!

BTW you are one of those, who complains every time. When you get hacked, you will wake up.

Is 11.1.2 still being signed for 7 Plus?

According to https://api.ineal.me/tss/status - yes, but not according to ipsw.me. Both sites claim to fetch their signing status data from the same API so it's unclear which site provides the correct data. Like bashman2020 said, download the ipsw file and give it a shot. If Apple refuses to sign your firmware - do a hard reset and your phone should reboot back to its normal state, if it doesn't you can use Recboot to exit recovery mode. No data is wiped from the phone nor is any restore process properly initiated until iTunes has verified the restore with apple's TSS server.

Agree w/ you about battery life on iOS 11. My battery life was horrible when I first did the update from iOS 10.3.3 through the regular iTunes update process - I recently did a full restore and clean install without restoring a backup which improved battery life and performance drastically, but this really shouldn't be required. I remember my old 4S for instance, it went from iOS 5>6>7 through updating and never had to do a clean install for performance/battery reasons. iOS 11 really is the most unstable release so far.

I think ios 10.3 is still lowkey being signed for iphone 5s a friend just downgraded with itunes restore so if you have an iphone 5s you can give it a shot

What? I have a 5s which I love more than anything else but I hate the subtle UI changes in 11 - I’m a little crazy about details - going to try this right now even though it sounds odd. Worst that can happen is that I spend a couple minutes downloading an IPSW and going to dfu mode, nothing is actually done to the device before Apple has signed off on the restore :)

Update: like I feared, didn't work. "Declined to authorize this device on this firmware for this user".

If your not side loading apps or installing shoddy profiles as of right now their doesn’t seem to be a risk.

If a Spectre or Meltdown exploit is created that can actually hack a smartphone, chances are, it'll come in the form of an app. Since the security flaw is in your processor, and all apps are filtered through your processor as they run, it just takes one with the proper code to execute the exploit.

Isn't one of them exploitable through the browser?

I read somewhere that the device has to be hacked in order for the vulnerabilities to be exploited? Which seems pretty difficult without a jailbreak.

Is downgrade to iOS 10 possible right now? Please tell me the way...

Thanks! Was hoping iPad Air or iPhone 7. Congrats if you did it!
you could try it it could work for you also ... download the ipsw file from ipsw.me the use itunes by holding shift on restore button and selecting the downloaded ipsw file then hit restore it apple allows signing then lucky you

That's true. I read above that there's no risk in losing data for this, is that correct? I don't wanna wind up putting my Air on iOS 11.

NO.. If you downgrade and then when you try to get it activated and it then fails because apple dont sign it you have no choice to update to latest os..

I am going to try it on my 6sp solely as was part of the beta program so want rid of the beata
