Some more pics of the Gear Live up here. Can't tell if it's going to be too thick for my taste (the other Gears are). I kinda like the way it looks from the front through. The LG watch looks a bit too blocky, and the 360 definitely too thick.

My exact thoughts! I may just wait to see them in store.

Overall a very "meh" conference.

As expected lots of concepts and deals...

The only interesting part was Android L. It looks pretty cool, even though it did rip off the iOS UI.

I bet Android YouTube and Chrome still can't play audio in the background.

Apple's conference was much more impressive and brought substantial changes.

I was also hoping for the chromebook 'continuity' features to also work via an extension in chrome browser
they need to buy pushbullet already

So much this. Buy Pushbullet + MightyText, slap all that stuff right into the Chrome browser and have it work on any computer = world domination.

I was hoping Android and Chrome would be integrated together. So if you connected your Android phone to a monitor, the desktop would opened up.

The Moto 360 sure looked good on Sundar's wrist during the presentation though.

Yep, Pushbullet allows any phone or tablet to send notifications direct to your PC. Only problem is, you can't answer the phone from the PC like you can with iOS8 and a Mac. It is close, but not the same. Sure Mighty Text and SMS's will work, but not the phone portion. And it lacks complete integration like with Apple.

Yes, thats super unique, let me think, is there any other platform announced lately working the same way, oh right, Carplay.

Not going to lie, I totally forgot about Carplay, and I'm not sure why.

Android Wear looks okay to me. It's interesting, but I also must confess that it's possible the only reason I'm interested in it is because of the beauty of the Moto 360.

The only other great thing about Android Wear is the ability for your device to know it's you when it senses your watch via bluetooth, thus turning off the lock screen notification. That's an awesome feature.

I guess that's what the smart watch comes down to... more convenience.

Oh boy. This again. The Galaxy devices have been doing a number of these things since before iOS has been doing them. I'll give you the head up notifications, but everything else is just intuitive at this point.

The lock screen notification animation, in particular, is really nice. You can cascade them down, expand them, etc.

I'm impressed. I think this will be better than Moto X's lock screen notification.

That's awesome.

Bummer the Moto 360 isn't available until end of Summer for pre-order.

Moto 360 + successor to Moto X should make for an interesting presentation for Motorola...

I think Motorola could straight kill it if they make smart decisions.

The crowd were going mental for the 360.

With a "card UI" they already failed. Card UI is cluttered and takes up too much wasted space on the sides. Opacity/blur is much better. I actually considered a Nexus 5, but now I don't know.

Oh sure, complete integration would be optimal of course. And hopefully that's what they're moving towards. But for now, I would be quite happy with just the Pushbullet and MightyText functionality baked into Chrome and perhaps made a bit more streamlined. I'm not that concerned about answering the phone through my computer honestly.

I'm not even caring just because I know I'm probably not going to get the update for a LONG time.

I will say though, it might keep me on Android. I'll just have to see the iPhone 6 at this point.

I just got a android head up notification from the google io app. wish I had taken a screen shot. running 4.4.4

Agreed same here. Don't care for answering the phone on PC myself. Cross platform is much more important for me.

Big step forward for Android. Fantastic design language and user experience improvements. Android and iOS are pretty neck and neck.

the new recents is nice, like the google integration like chrome tabs and google search. just wish there was a multi window in android. also cloud backup for everything.

cloud game saves is great, now bring that for every app and sync it to drive.

The new 'recent' look is actually one of the few things I'm not too thrilled about. Looks weird and possibly cumbersome to use. Won't know for sure until I actually try it out, of course.
