Purchasing a C2D MBP? What are you upgrading from?

Upgrading from the last revision of the 17" PowerBook.

Ship date for C2D 17" MBP 7th of September. Can't wait...but really nervous about the quality issues Apple has been having. I just hope for 3 grand I am getting a great computer...

I had a 17" MBP CD (1st rev) and despite some of the issues mine was really good. The 15" MBP C2D seems to be every bit as good and more refined. Once nice thing I noticed is that the speakers don't make that small "pop" when powering back on after not making a noise for a while.
