I'm not liking how the message part of the email runs into the subject line. For example, if an email read:

Subject: Vacation
Message: What time are we leaving?

The pop up shows something like:
Subject: Vacation What time are we leaving?

I know I am being kind of picky. But it would be nice to indicate some kind of separation.

oh ok but I tried dragging gmail_adhoc_profile_mobileprovision along with the PushGmail app and my iPhone can't recognize the gmail_adhoc_profile_mobileprovision. what should I do?

EDIT: Nm I got it working.

Thanks - we'll take a look.

A couple of things I have noticed.

1. No graphics on icon. Today after a restart the blank PushGMail icon got replaced by the "Bump" Icon. 1st time this bug has happened to me.

2. I also noticed that I only receive 1 push notification. Basically if I receive more than 1 email in a row, I will only get notified about the first one.
EDIT: The problem seems to have been solved.

3. The Notification window option to "View" or "Close" is only available when the phone is unlocked. If a notification comes, and you need to swipe your finger to unlock it, the notification disappears. (Not sure if this is an apple OS issue or not)

4. When "View" is pressed, an option to open up the MAIL app rather than the PushGMail app would be nice. For some reason I hate using the Safari GMail interface. (Maybe an option in the settings for a user preference)

Other than that, I think this is a great app.

Thanks again,
Chris

Love the app

Does what it says. It's great! Only issue I have while testing is if you open a pic attachment, it makes it full size and the only way to get back to the inbox is to quit the app and go back in.

Hi, installed it yesterday, thanks.

Working flawlessly. I only have minor suggestions.

1. Needs an icon

2. The sound notification hasn't worked a couple times. I checked to make sure the sound was set to on, after I did that, the sound notifications started working again. It didn't work one other time for me since, not sure if it's specific to my phone though.

3. It might be better to open up the mail in the native mail on the iphone, instead of the gmail page it currently goes to. I just prefer and am used the native mail app I suppose.

That's really all I have for now. The push has been flawless though. I've received notifications instantly for each and every email. Nice!

Will continue to test and report back.

Some observations:-

1) OP is right. Make sure you enter your full gmail address. As in username@gmail.com. If you don't, you will not be able to access your gmail mailbox and the app will crash after crashes. The only way to solve it IMO is to reinstall the app.

2) Push notification is indeed very fast. However like some previous posters have said earlier, it would be nice to launch over at the mail app. Perhaps the developer can somehow do a detection for the presence of gmail account in the mail app. If present, it will give us the option to launch gmail in mail or the app itself.

3) Links cannot be opened in Safari or within the app itself. At least I didn't manage to do that. Tapping and holding on a link opens this window

however if you tap "Open", nothing happens. So the only way to access the link is to copy&paste the Url and paste it manually in Safari. If anyone has any tips on launching the link in an easier manner please let me know.

4) Woulx be nice if there is an option to change the notification sound among the iPhone default sounds clips and/or custom sound clips.

Having issues with the app starting sometime yesterday afternoon. I have not received any pushes since then. Just passing it on.

we are deploying the new version of the server. Service is temporarily down!

I am really loving this app too. I had one suggestion (which I sent to the developer too) is that it would be nice to be able to choose how many seconds the push notification appears. It's a little too quick for me. Nothing major, but that might be a nice addition :)

just realized that the badge numbers do not update if the mail is checked through the Iphone native mail app.

For example, there are 6 emails awaiting on the PushGmail badge, then I load up the native mail app, check 4 of my 6 emails and exit to the home screen. The badges will not update to reflect that I still have 2 unread messages.

I think this app is sucking my phones battery really quick. I don't remember having 50% battery life in just 4 hours. It wasn't like this before.

It's the push notifications being on :( This is the first time I've had push notifications on and it's obviously a HUGE battery sucker. Yesterday I took my iphone off the charger at 2 pm at 100%. I went to a cookout and didn't use my iphone once. On the way back into town at 8, I made a 12 minute phone call. I then left my phone in the car to go to a club (no way I'm taking my phone around drunk people :p). When I got back home, my battery was at 23%. That seems almost impossible. BUT. I had 13 or so emails pushed during that time, so I think it must be that :(

The notifications are still working great for me, they're taking about 5-10 seconds to come through on my end which was expected as more people started using it (still beats the hell out of ~15 minutes). I don't really notice a difference in battery life I guess because I had push on previously to having this app. My only complaint, which I'm not even sure if it's possible to implement, is that the native Mail app isn't tied into this app in any way. I find myself opening this app to clear the badges then just opening the native Mail app because sometimes the Gmail web interface can take a bit longer to fully load.
