used Pwnage 3.0 to JB 2g/3.0 iPhone.
Now SMS history disappears each time after exiting application. So no more audit trail. It stays there while still in app though.
Anyone else experience this?
or is it some simple toggle to enable it? Looks like writes to the DB are not happening or saving.

BTW, Everything else works great.

RESOLVED !
Nothing to do with the JB. It was a corrupt restore of an iphone backup. After a fresh JB and then manually re-syncing apps, mail etc all is fine.

So indeed, there were no issues with the actual JB.

So my phone is running 3.0. It's jailbroken. I know it works. I was using it for awhile.

I tried installing some updates via Cydia and it froze. I did a reset (home + power buttons) and now it's stuck on the Pineapple logo.

It's been like this for 15 minutes now.

What do I do???

did you hear back yet? i have the same issue on my iphone 2G. can you email me or ping me when you hear anything?

I thought that I should post my experience, in case anyone encounters the same issue.

I installed it, I found Cydia painfully slow and unstable, so I was just using Icy, and didn't have any problems for some time. Then I decided to see if the Cydia update made it any more usable, so I opened Cydia and installed all of the updates. Shortly later, it crashed and was stuck on the boot screen. So I had to restore it. Then, after the restore finished, I installed a few things in Icy and then went back to Cydia and let it upgrade everything again. As it was doing that, I was looking through the logs to see if I could find any sign of what caused the problem. Then I saw a new log appear as the UI of my iPhone froze. Before it shut down and got stuck on the boot screen again I was able to examine the log and see that the problem was that /usr/lib/libsqlite3.0.dylib was missing.

SQLite was in the list of updates, so I downloaded the "sqlite3-lib" package onto my Mac to see if I could find why it was removing the library instead of updating it. Then I was puzzled when I found that the data tarball was completely empty. Looking at the control file, I found that the most recent version of the package is actually a pseudo-package that depends on OS 3.0 /or/ a new package, "sqlite3-dylib", which contains the actual library. Because OS 3.0 already includes SQLite. But Icy had already installed the old version of the "sqlite3-lib" package, (gdb depends on it) overwriting the library that was preinstalled. So, when that package was "upgraded" to the new empty package that does nothing on OS 3.0, the old files were removed, which left me without SQLite at all, horribly breaking the entire system.

So just don't install SQLite from Icy. :D

Pwnage Tool keeps quitting in the middle of building the custom firmware. Any ideas? I'm running Tiger.

Edit: After reading through copious comments on the blog, it looks like it's not working for PPC Macs right now. :(

ARGH! this is sooo annoying! I wish the dev team had posted that you need an intel mac.....went to jailbreak and pwnage tool keeps crashing at the IPSW part. damnit, now i'm stuck with a non-jb phone until dev team gets around to fixing this. grrrr.....

Apparently you haven't done much reading (and it is posted about PT and it is posted that Redsn0w .0.7.2 works on both)

Use Redsn0w .0.7.2, it works on both PPC & Intell Macs.

Make sure iTunes is updated to 8.2. and Mac is at 10.5.7 software (not 10.5.6 as DFU won't work without a powered USB hub)

Make sure you are pointing redsn0w at the restore IPSW which will be found in the User/Library/iTunes/software folder on the Mac you upgraded your iPhone to 3.0 on.

Also, get a tutorial so you can follow the instructions (there are many available, use Google)

Only install Cydia, not Icy as many are having problems with Icy.

Then, using Cydia, run Ultrasn0w.

Is it safe to do everything with 10.5.5? I have not yet updated to 10.5.7 as I have no need to do so. Thanks.

I have no idea about 10.5.5. Very few are using that anymore.

What is the issue about with not upgrading to 10.5.7 ?

We know iTunes 8.2 and 10.5.7 work, so if you want to JB/UL, that is the way to do it.

iclarified also has step by step instructions on pwnage 3.0 (which is not much diff than before) http://iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=4254

For the 16xx error, found this on the dev-team blog comments:

Props go out to EriCKY for this 16xx fix:

1. download QuickPwn RC3
2. download iphone 2.0.2 ipsw
3. Run quickpwn rc3 and do everything it says untul your iphone has a white screen.
4. unplug your iphone, turn off quickpwn and turn on itunes.
5. shift click restore in itunes and pick the 3.0 jailbroken firmware :3

many are reporting success with this, I am getting ready to try it (once my wife is off the PC)

Any way to do this if you are just on a mac?
