Now that I look at it, I've made a mess of the band. There weren't any scratches when I got it, but I've been wearing it alot..... suppose I should clean it, and give it a once over with some scotch brite.

The image that shows the "Assembled in China" has both my bought at the Apple store Milanese band, and the link band ends.

The image that shows the links, shows the nice new and clean spare links I bought from Apple, and the original band links.

If you want more pics, let me know. Hard to get the Assembled text without a real macro lens though.

For anyone who might want to buy one of these I made an offer of $100 and it was accepted. It will take awhile for delivery but if it's genuine this is a deal for sure.

just ordered the black 42mm, offered him 120 when he was asking 170. will take a while to arrive but im pretty confident its legit based on your feedback and some others

The item description for the $98 dollar ones definitely says pre-owned and the photos show some relatively small scratches. Nothing a good polishing can't fix I think.

How can you tell if all links are there for the 42mm Link band? Are all of the push buttons releasable. Trying to determine if I have all the links. I see 6 push buttons on each part of band, 12 total. Are all of these removable? I count 24 total segments not counting the clasp or 2 ends. thanks

Yes each side should have 6. So if yours has 12 total, this is normal. You can buy 2 extra for each side @Apple for 49$

Thanks, I just watched an unboxing, yes mine is complete. Are all buttons releaseable? I have fat fingers and some are hard to release close to the ends.
Andrew, Apple actually gives you 6 links for $49...

oh cool I've never looked bc I have small wrists lol.

All 6 on each side are. The little black release point is on the ones that are releasable.

This guys must have connections to the oem factory. These are probably "B" products that get rejected for quality issues. The "A", prime time at the Apple Store for $550

Thanks for the Ebay link I went for the Silver Link Band that was New Other (See details) he had it 172.85 and I did best offer with him starting at 100.00 and kept going up till he accepted and he did at 145 so I think its a good deal that price.

Wasn’t there a problem with the first editions of the black link bracelets showing more wear than they should? The black coming off or something?

In other words, wondering if his saying Therese are previous stock if they are from Apple’s original process, which they refined when there were wear issues?

Some reviews on Apple's own site: https://www.apple.com/us-hed/shop/reviews/MJ5K2ZM/A/42mm-space-black-link-bracelet

I know some negative reviews exist for all products, but if you google around about the issue of the black wearing off it seems to be a common theme from a year or two ago. Perhaps it was only a few lemons, but I thought I'd remembered reading apple also changed how they were made. I couldn't find it now, as I read it quite some time ago. And hence, my question about if anyone else had heard about this.

Thanks for this. Not sure I'd want a band that loses color. Scratches are okay, but the black coming off is off putting.

did you buy from this reseller ?
No, sorry to confuse, I'm just commenting in this one because there aren't any other Link Bracelet threads that people are using

I bought it from a guy on eBay with the watch, green tab and everything so it had never been opened, have only had it since January, and now it's completely broken, it's an Apple band!

The guy on the phone made it sound like I was going to have to pay

The guy said he doesn’t have a Link Bracelet but it sounds like it would be something I’d have to pay
Didn’t really seem like he knew what he was talking about

Just don’t want to drive and hour and be told my $449 band won’t be covered
