The guy on the phone made it sound like I was going to have to pay

The guy said he doesn’t have a Link Bracelet but it sounds like it would be something I’d have to pay
Didn’t really seem like he knew what he was talking about

Just don’t want to drive and hour and be told my $449 band won’t be covered

Nope they should cover it as long its under warrentary they will.

It’s not exactly under warranty

The watch was originally purchased in 2015, but never opened

And then I opened it In January 2017, so there’s no warranty technically
But maybe they’ll understand, it’s not like some dude has been wearing it for the past 2 years and I broke it, it was brand new when I opened it

To be honest there is only one way to find out. Just to the store one day and be honest. They will help you out one way or another.

Any updates on people who purchased?

Although the price is great, makes me a bit leery that seller uses rejected parts to make these bands to sell.

Mine came with marks on it. Took it to apple and they replaced it. No warranty. Just was nice about it.

nope but they did several "tests" on it in the back to verify it was real. So these bands this seller has are def real. but something is off in why they are so cheap

What did you tell them ?
that my space black apple link bracelet ive had less than a year isn't holding up well. lol.

What initiated the exchange was that the clasp wasn't as tight as it should have been the guy said and thats not from wear and tear.

I've bought many 42 black link bands from the seller but not via ebay. They are legit. Some even came with the clasp still in plastic seal. Some have minor scratches, all are complete with all links. It does seem like the black color is a half shade lighter on some, but you can only see it when laid next to an Apple store one, very, very slight color difference. Most would never notice. It could just because of different runs, both were beautiful colors.
I have noticed lately his prices have gone up some and some recent ones had 2 or 3 minor scratches, compared to the ones I got months ago.

I got in early I guess, and it seemed riskier so prices were lower maybe, and now he may be more trusted and his demand and prices went up. What price range are you offering? on 42 black?

It’s a bit fishy that this thread appears to have started and ended with the same eBay seller, yet has also gone from counterfeit to (what seem to be) genuine bands.

Regarding the comments on genuine Apple space black link bands. I've had mine since launch. The first six months, I mostly wore it every day. I have over a dozen bands now, so change them out a lot. I only wear the space black when I want to dress the watch up.
(the nylon Nato bands from Clockwork Synergy and the Fantek knock-off sport bands are very comfortable - of course, also have a few Apple sport bands).

Not a mark on my link bracelet. I'm looking forward to using it with an S3 (as soon as my carrier supports it) and future watch revisions (fingers crossed Apple keeps the connector the same for a very long time) :) Yes, the coating isn't as thick as the body of the space black watch (you can tell by comparing the two), but it stands up fine to regular use. I think those that encountered problems exposed the bracelet to abrasive surfaces in a repetitive fashion.

We’ll see. I just bought the space black at the price I didn’t want to pay, but we’ll see when it comes.

What’s a good way to clean these bands?
Sonic clean with warm water?

Got mine yesterday, the SS (Got the SB SS from them back in July), pretty good, cleaned it in soapy warm water and sonic'd it.

Looking good.

Pics of the ss and sb?

Which ones did you get? “New (other)” or “pre-owned”?
