Would I see an improvement if I replace the stock GT 120 Geforce graphics card with an ATI Radeon 5770?

I dont think it will make any difference. My score was 21 seconds but then its a 2.93GHz and the same GPU. I'm wondering id an SSD boot drive will make a difference.

I installed the SSD OWC 240 GB today in my MacPro, used it as boot drive and the test was done in 35 sec. Not much speedier.

I think you must use NVidia card with Cuda rendering GPU, to have an advance over the CS5, at list this works with Adobe Premier Pro CS5.

planning on getting an SSD boot drive in about a month...wonder if that's going to drop it down...might save a second or two

heh...with such a "crappy" drive and no raid, i still think it's pretty darn good:)

Nikon Users: Try this NX2 Speed Test

If you own Nikon cameras, liked this test and really want to put your system through a comprehensive imaging test, I'd recommend trying my Nikon Capture NX2 speed test on Digital Photography Review's Nikon board:
http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/readflat.asp?forum=1007&message=32800226&changemode=1

If you don't have NX2, you can download a free trial here:

BTW, NX2 is the best quality RAW converter for Nikon NEFs.

Not that I wouldn't want a MP (cus I realllllly would like one), but I couldn't help posting this--especially because it beats a $3,000+ MP (maybe not a $6,000 one though)

I know I was slow responding to stopwatch so I can imagine this number is closer to 15 sec
I imagine this number will go up when I bump ram to 48 gig
