Currently the Moment app has the best photo quality on 15.4. I don’t see the mushiness using that vs the default camera after updating. So, I’ll be using the Moment app until further notice…
Wouldn’t this be the case for all third-party apps that shoot in RAW? Already have Halide & Lightroom, so i didn’t want to add another app to the roster lol

Not really. Even amongst the 3rd party there are big differences in function and quality.
I have not tried Moment (actually Pro Camera by Moment) but I have tried Halide, ProCam, and ProCamera. Halide was the clear leader for these (IMO) and using with Lightroom.

For me Halide works very well. Other should find what works well for them.

Looking at Moment I just may play around with it ...

Usually… but the other apps haven’t had updates for 15.4 yet and still looked worse than moment for some reason. But today the default camera looks fine. I guess a day or so to adjust was needed

The new software for the macro camera really works great. I think I can get a little closer than I used to be able to

That picture is simply stunning. Was that taken using the Moment Camera app?

Thanks, but no it was taken with the default Ultra Wide camera on the iPhone. The upgrade notes for iOS 15. Four mentioned closer macro photography and it can never use more like a magnifying glass for reading or looking at small objects. So are used the Ultra Wide on the default camera and got as close as I could to take the shot.

Not sure why I was complaining about the IQ after updating to 15.4… the image quality now looks fantastic. Halide just released an update, not huge but helpful. Obscura camera 3 is a nice app as well, if you want full control both manual and auto of the iPhone cameras. Some B&W Gritty photos…

The iPhone is a Mirrorless camera!!! Do you see a mirror in it? I can outshoot most people with my iPhone Because its a camera & one that I’m very good with.
But he said the addition of 'ProRaw' made the iPhone a mirrorless.
A mirrorless shooting JPEG is still a mirrorless.

The other two top camera phones are Pixel Pro 6 and S22 Ultra, do you guys have much better camera experience with these two?

I just did some simple Google search and both Ultra and Pixel have shutter lag issue. I would choose iPhone just because never had any lag. My last Sony phone camera shutter lag like 2 seconds so horrible.

Interesting that both Max 13 or Pixel 6 Pro AI would have so different approach in every photo, you don’t even know which photo is from which phone.

Some photos of Pixel just become all blue Color. The stable result and no lag shutter of iPhone is ahead in market. Well Samsung and Pixel have more detail with bigger sensor when it works

Pixel used to be king of night mode but Max 13 is way better now, research of AI is fast.

Agree with that.
I will say the test unit I played with showed no lag. Was on par with my 13PM and 1+ 9Pro.
Yeah for fast shutter speed pixels and iPhones are the only two with really fast shutter speed so for moving objects are the best for sure.
