Sorry but someone coming from the original SE (iPhone 5S body) to the Pro Max and complaining there's not much extra content shown on screen sounds like absolute nonsense.

A LOT of light… as in a search light? Like a double sun on Tatooine? Come on… it takes absolutely decent photo’s for the small lenses it has to content with. To which DSLR are you comparing?? Besides a lone OPPO phone there aren’t any significantly better point and shoot camera’s (aka smartphones).
thats what I mean - all camera phones are (relatively) trash compared to a real camera. It’s hard to put into words when you compare a great lens to the best of phones

I have a fujifilm which performs best with my 16mm lens. But obv it’s annoying to carry that around, the lens alone is quite heavy! but the difference is dramatic

I’m truly happy for anyone not to agree with me as it means they’re happy for less money! That’s the dream right there.

Returned it today, didn’t have a chance to take photos, unfortunately. But basically this happened, I put it in my purse and the side got scratched little, just from being in the purse. So my friend suggested I take it to jeweller to smooth put the scratch. I asked for a quote but it would be too expensive so I didn’t do it. Glad I didn’t because I could not have returned it. The scratch is very small, almost invisible to the naked eye. But it bothered me. Apple said it grade 5 titanium same they use in space. So how can it scratch? It’s just marketing, I guess.
You brought it to a… jeweler? How about using a nice case?

Titanium is known for tensile strength , and lighter in comparison with steel and able to resist to corrosion. But the materiel scuff and scratches easily due to the surface is much softer .That why titanium use on say knife or folding knife are always stonewash or bead blast to hide wear and tear, but is use for hard use tools due to it able to withstand blunt force and is corrosion free which is perfect for hard use tools. This just show how people assume everything without understand the nature of the material.

Yes it sounded cool using the said materiel, but hearing complaining it scuff easily. People had no idea how silly they sound , when you actually understand the materiel. How about putting it in a phone case then ?

I am seriously baffled by peeps in this threads and in this forum with people complaining it scratches . Doesnt take a metallurgist to understand this. Spend all this money to buy the latest iphone but doenst know how to actually use the internet to search for info rather then going ape$hit about it. Makes you look like a clown.

This has to be a troll post. 🪦

Anyway, if it isn’t i would return it and maybe go for the 15 Plus.

It’s lighter and it has a longer battery life.

agreed, I learned a few years ago to never buy a phone based on the marketing bs about the camera....now it's not even something that I look for specs or listen to bs about....it is what it is and which brings the plus to actually a way better bang for your buck purchase and not the pro with all it's problems.

Exactly, every year its the same routine. This year is different cos its titanium. But seeing like 50% of it complaining it scratch without actually understand what the materiel is just a clown feast. While to some people are genuinely looking for meaningful info is just an annoyance.

Not everyone has problems. Actually, most people don't. I have a completely problem-free PM.
The difference between Plus and PM in the same capacity amounts to 300 Canadian dollars. 256 Plus is already a VERY expensive phone.
I spent a fair amount of time looking at both and trying to decide if 300 is a justifiable difference and decided it is.
I have had a 120 Hz phone since 2020 and don't really feel like going back to 60.
PM has smaller bezels, it's actually quite noticable when you put them side-by-side.
5X zoom is important to me.
A17 chip is incredible. It's so fast it's scary. 8 GB RAM is also great to have.

Out of the specs you listed, the one I would want is the 8gb ram..the rest..meh, not needed..chip and design should be better by next year for the heat, battery problems and to not cut down the longevity of the phone..heat kills

My God. Another thread whining about their 15 Pro Max.

I’ve had ZERO problems.

Look. I get it. You got a legitimate problem and I’m good with that. Just a little annoying that you insist on creating a new thread when there are SEVERAL threads you could have responded to.

End of the day, not even Apple cares. There still going to sell a lot of these. Worse case scenario they repair or replace a few.

I need a new phone now, not next year. I don’t have any heat or battery problems. This battery is mind-blowing. 14-hours a day use and only down 50%.

In regards to all the post about it scratching, at the very end of a day it’s a phone. It’s a device that will for the most of us be with us an enormous amount of time slipping into pockets, purses, bags etc. Nothing last nor remains new forever and a good portion of us will probably upgrade next year again (IUP etc). Enjoy the phone for what it brings to the table in your situation and let the rest rock. Regardless whether or not phone gets minor scratches, it doesn’t take away from the actual functionality of the phone.

I bet the jeweler is trying his very best not to laugh. Comon seriously
Shortly after purchase I got a significant scratch on my Apple Watch - Series 0, stainless steel. It was more than the Cape Cod polishing cloth could handle. I took the watch to my jeweler who was reluctant to work on it due to fear he might damage the watch. I talked him into it and he did a beautiful job. You could still see the scratch somewhat but it was much improved from the deep scratch it was originally and I was happy with my watch again.

Also want to add that I had one natural titanium Apple watch and I was able to easily remove most scratches with a "Brushed Titanium Refinishing Pad" that I got on eBay. This would only work on the natural Ti iPhone.

Ahh, joined 2 days ago (probably less given I'm in Aus) and 3 posts to their name.

Complaining of battery life when every single video/ post is showing the 15PM battery life to be the best amongst all current smart phones, including those with significantly larger batteries. I'm not buying this story.

On my 15 Pro I went for 36 hours without needing to charge the phone. I fail to see how that is abysmal.
Because it's another user who signed up yesterday and has 4 posts to their name. There's been a heap of trolls on MR recently, actively trying to discredit the iPhone 15's. It happens every year....MR should think about not allowing new user sign ups in the 2 months following a new iPhone release 😊

I purchased iPhone 15 Pro Max, and I have to say, coming from original SE, it’s been a frustrating experience. First and foremost, the battery life is bad. I find myself constantly searching for a charger by evening. This has made the phone incredibly inconvenient for daily use. Also phone heats up like crazy and 17.0.3 has not fixed the issue.

The phone is too big and heavy but theres very little extra content shown on the screen. So it’s like just streched regular screen.

The software updates have become a nightmare. It seems like every other day there’s a new update that disrupts everything… iOS 17.0.1… 0.2… 0.3… Not to mention, some of these updates have caused compatibility issues with third-party apps, making them crash or behave erratically.

The camera, while touted as a major selling point, has been a letdown. The pictures are often overprocessed, and in low light, they are downright terrible. It feels like the camera’s capabilities were oversold, and it’s not living up to the hype.

The phone is incredibly fragile, and even a minor scratchinh can lead to a ruined finish. And when it does scratch, the repair costs are astronomical. It’s almost like they want you to buy a new phone instead.

In summary, this iPhone has been nothing but a headache. The poor battery life, huge size and weight without more screen real estate, heat issues, constant updates, disappointing camera, and fragile design make it a frustrating and expensive device to own. I expected more from a flagship iPhone, but unfortunately, it falls short in many areas.
Another day, another newbie complaining about the newest phones with claims that seem very far-fetched (like the battery life on the pro max being worse than the SE, or a .0.x update disrupting everything and messing up apps...)

I’m actually regretting my 15 Pro and want to get a Max. I had the 14 PM and thought I wanted to go down in size. The pro just feels a bit too small now.

Are you still in the return period or would you sell the pro?
