I still watch the older presentations where Steve Jobs is a part of... Too bad that the oldest video on Apple's YouTube channel is from 2013...

He's not a perfect man and probably a pain in the *** as a boss but he revolutionized the mobile and the music industry and made our lives easier and more fun! Thank you Steve! RIP

Does anyone else find the constant “Steve would have never _____” or “if Steve was still alive today” comments disrespectful and in bad taste? Even ignoring that Steve signed off of some of Apple’s worst products, it just seems so gross to speculate about what a deceased person would do. Let the dead rest.
Steve Jobs also reportedly told Tim Cook upon taking over to not question "what would [Steve] do or what would [Steve] think?" with every decision. (I'm taking this from the Isaacson biography).

We don't know what Steve Jobs would think about any given Apple product today. Maybe he'd like it. Maybe he'd hate it. It also doesn't matter. He's gone, Apple is still around. And is more profitable than ever. No well-run corporation would be in that position if they were so beholden to their co-founder they couldn't function without them.

He was 56 when he died. So based on the average life expectancy in the US he would have had approx. 20 years left to live. Please show me the 20 year survivability rate for pancreatic cancer.
1 year normally, Jobs had the one kind PC you would want. He didn't get the surgery quickly though and thats a game over kind of thing. I have known 3 people that had it and all of them died within 2 years.

If he was alive today, Apple would’ve moved much faster. Apple is just moving too slow today. Every year I looked forward to what Apple would bring to the world when Jobs was at the helm. Not anymore under Cook.
That’s because Tim Cook can’t see past his own avarice. Always trying to squeeze out one last round of mediocrity before adding something new.

I remember him not having anything to do with his birth father.
To everyone there is a good and a bad side. Jobs is not an exception.
And then he turned around and did the exact same thing to his own daughter. No admiration for a guy that couldn’t be a man to his own daughter.

Today marks the 12th anniversary of Apple's co-founder and former CEO Steve Jobs passing away at the age of 56, following a cancer diagnosis.

Apple shared the following message on its website when Jobs passed away:Apple still has a "Remembering Steve" page on its website with condolences shared by customers around the world following his death in 2011.

"There is not a day that goes by that we don't think about him," said Apple CEO Tim Cook, during the first media event at Steve Jobs Theater in September 2017.

The Steve Jobs Archive website contains a collection of quotes, videos, and emails from Jobs, and offers fellowships to young creators to follow in Jobs' footsteps.

May he rests in peace. His company has growth exponentially to trillions US dollar company under his chosen one. He must have been so proud!

His survival was a long shot for sure , but I wish he had a little more faith in western medicine when he was diagnosed. Imagine how disgusted and angry he would be with what apple has become in 2023.

Please share which country you are from and name a few revolutionary tech CEOs that grew up in and worked there as tech CEOs and we will compare them to Steve Jobs quick. Thanks in advance!
The United States.

And Steve Jobs.

My point still stands that somehow making good products is a foreign concept to most businesses leaders in this country.

His death should focus minds on preventable cancer deaths. He didn’t die from cancer, he died from misinformation, a belief in alternative medicine that turned a very survivable cancer diagnosis into his end.
As for "very survivable", the 5-year survival rate for islet cell cancer is 54%. As it was, he lived more than 7 years after diagnosis.

He passed from not just “a cancer diagnosis” but specifically Pancreatic Cancer. It helps to distinguish specifically because Pancreatic Cancer has the toughest outcomes (12% survival when in early stages, which they almost never are found in) and 3% once the cancer has spread. It also receives the lowest amount of research funding overall.

I read that by 2030 I believe Pancan will represent much more of the new cancer diagnoses so now it’s a more important time then ever to at very least bring awareness to it.

My Mom got diagnosed a year ago; stage IV and has progressed on Chemo. This cancer has basically shook every part of me but I hope that progress will be made in the coming months and years.

A good resource from learning about and getting support specific to Pancreatic Cancef can be found from the folks at Pancan here: Pancan. It would be nice to see Macrumors at some point during their yearly articles commemorating his passing to take the opportunity to educate on the cancer he had and perhaps call more attention to the cause.
