I’ve had people use the reaction to my opinions or my perspectives; it really sucks and discourages me from participating more.

So you would feel better if they replied with a "LOL" or "ROFL"? Or would you want those banned as well?

I feel a better option would be for you to understand there are many people out there that are rude and disagree with you. What those people say is not a commentary on you personally and you should simply ignore them and/or block them.
