Also i have a 8 Plus (coming from a reg 7) and have fell in love with it. --may not help your decision from 7 + to 8+
That wasn't the point of my response and you know it. Nice attempt at deflecting the fact that you should contact Apple directly, instead of posting with some anonymous, obscure screen name hoping that someone from Apple will see your post.
Kid is having trouble in school. Mom and dasd confront the child wanting to know why the kid didn't say something to them about having trouble. The child replied ' I posted on the book site that makes most of the books for our school under the screen name 'having trouble part 3456'. I thought you would see it and know it was me.'

Ain't worried about cracks... I've dropped my Plus phones dozens of times on those same concrete floors you see in the pics... never a scratch, crack or dent. Of course, I don't run naked... I run a bumpered case which as you can see doesn't interfere with the screen at all... but does protect from drops... quite well I might add.
Still... I see your point.
I'm looking forward to seeing the X Plus next year. For me screen size is everything... and the X/8/7/6 are all downgrades. I've seen a lot of comments already from Plus users about not being happy with the X... which is pretty much where I'd be no doubt had I not passed on the X.
I hope everything is happy with their purchase! I'm happy with mine!
I'm sure that apple has people that skim these types of forums and take some popular ideas into consideration.
It’s not as wide as the plus. But the screen is taller. Really same real estate in a different form factor. If you really like the plus model, get the 8+ and wait to see next year what Apple does. I feel the X is the replacement for the standard form factor, not a replacement of the Plus. I like the X more than my 7+ because I like the smaller form factor. There was still a small adjustment period for me cause the grip had changed. But the 8+ is a great phone if you like that form factor.
The thing that stood out to me after getting the X, was that the Plus model has a lot of wasted space, large gaps and unused sections of screen. To me the X is utilizing real estate better. But again I like the smaller form factor so it’s all my opinion.
They may. At the same time, one should not assume and then complain about Apple.

I'll admit the overall main reason for me wanting the X is to have the latest and greatest.
Aside from the fact that I'm tired of having a large rectangular shaped object in my pockets.
That being said if I'm being honest, if the non plus version of the iphone had the plus camera I probably would've never hopped to a plus model.

I feel fine, didn’t spent anything bc of the 14 day return policy. Giving the X a chance is better than bitching about it and not having to experience it at all.
I had a 6 plus, got the X yesterday. Love it. The footprint is better and the screen is essentially the same size (particularly in portrait). And I don't use landscape that much or watch 2 hour movies on an iPhone (have an iPad for that). And faceID is awesome. Oh, and the 6 plus ran horribly on ios 11.
Yeah if you really like the Plus form factor, I would say stick with that model. The 8+ is a great phone. But the X is really a replacement of the standard form factor. I’m sure Apple will make a Plus version next year as many seem to really like the wider grip and larger size. Nothing wrong with either phone, it’s all about preference in your choice of form factor.
Face ID DOES work laying on your desk and you don’t have to look at the phone from a perpendicular/90 degree angle.
Why not get a stand that sits the phone upright, simply touch the screen, while looking at the phone(you have to touch for TOUCH ID anyway), and you are good to go?

You don’t think they asked for my reasons on returning the X 30 mins ago? They might not know when I started this thread, but they know now.
I’d rather have a proven ‘boring’ design than a new ugly one. Thanks for beta testing the X for me.
I find it hilarious that instead of a huge bezel now we got some big ass black bars all around on videos
Bingo. They should have kept it either 1080 resolution or 1440 resolution. 1125 is just going to throw everything off
