I have big hands/wrists so the fit of the watch is perfect for me. It’s actually not nearly as big as I thought it was.

I’m loving the titanium, I’ve only had SS and aluminum models in the past. And I’m upgrading from a s4.

Definitely a keeper.

For me, this was the most excited I’ve been for an Apple Watch in years.

I think you have it upside down mate. It’s not like people scream for a larger display. But when they make the watch the same size as an iPad mini and still don’t make the display significantly larger, that might be bugging some people.
That’s exactly it. You’re already wearing a big watch if you have the Ultra. Why wouldn’t you want the screen to be as big as it could be. It won‘t affect the size of the watch.

get a fenix 7x you can have 10-12 on a face and it'll look good.

I only LIKE the ultra. I am a garmin person and not having good access to recovery stats keeps me on the fence.

The trade off is the complete garbage screen that’s on the Fenix, along with the watch not being nearly as integrated with iOS.

Thanks. You were spot on. I went swimming this morning at 8.00am. It’s taken about 16 hours for the speaker to dry out and work properly. As I swim every day I guess I better get used to it.
seriously I havn't got mine but want to surf with it

Not gonna return it, in fact, I'll probably go the other way and get rid of my Epix. The band has grown on me, the weight is fine, the screen works for me, probably the only minor problem I have is that the screen attracts fingerprints.

I'll need to see about battery life, a short workout with WorkOutDoors seemed to chew up the battery more than I expected but that happens when new. And podcast syncing looks like it's still not perfect but I've had to live with that, since, forever.

Righ now, it's a keeper.

If you want, I'll take it off your hands.

I think a lot of people get hyped up watching "The Event" and order it without checking out the specs first, yes its a bigger watch so if you have a small wrist it is going to look big, but that is your choice. I have a 175mm wrist and it fits perfect, if you are unsure measure you wrist size, check reviews, it's a lot of money to spend on something that you might not like and it delays the orders to those that actually want the watch. Definitely keeping mine, upgraded from a AW6

Ultra looks like it was designed by The North Face or some other “Look at me, I’m always either hiking or setting up my tent”-clothing brand.

And the S8 and SE 2022 are just old AWs with insignificant upgrades. Boring.

☹️

Why is there no “Pro” Apple Watch but minus all carbine hook & backpack aesthetics?

Or just put that new Ultra battery in the regular 45mm S8. Apple, please!

🙏😭

I plan to return it and get another one.
Mine has a tiny mark where the glass fits, on the titanium rim, which is driving me crazy, a tiny thing

I think the ultra is a great product but the bands are garbage. So glad it works with the older bands. I think they wanted to make it stand out from the previous watches but the bags are terrible imho.
I thought the alpine felt like paper a bit.
I used it on a 7 mile hike and now I like it because my arm didn’t sweat under the alpine band like it does with my sports band Keeper for me.
(I also need to tighten it one loop extra to get rid of that annoying slack. )

Try using the end of a sport band or a Mr Clean magic eraser to “erase” it. I had a similar mark and now it’s pretty much imperceptible.

Sorry but I'm Italian and I don't know that brand. Are you talking like the one for erasing the marks on the walls?

Yup! Although I’ve actually found the edge of a sport band to work better since mine was on rim and it was difficult to be as precise with the eraser.

Mine is on the edge too .. I wouldn't want to ruin the glass
