As a previous note 4 owner and a s6 edge owner, the simplicity of apple os will always come on top compare to using touchwiz, if apple can get their crap together and deliver that beautiful screen samsung devices have i will never even think of switching, those samsung screens are beautiful.

The screens are way better, that's for sure! But as of this moment I am not sold on switching to Samsung. Maybe I'll change my mind, but if the screen is the only real huge difference, I'd prefer my 6+ to the Note 5 at least. Maybe the 6 or 6 edge or 6 edge + would have been better for me to test.

I was using a 5s and switched to a note 4 big difference between a 5s and a note 4, used the note 4 for like 6 months than I switched to a iPhone 6+ the only thing I missed from the note 4 was the screen, the spen if I used it once in 6 months was a lot. After that the s6 edge came out, I got it, wow what a beautiful design what a beautiful screen but guess what sold it and activated my iPhone 6+ again, why? Well with just 1gb of ram and a dull screen compare to Samsung it still works better for me in terms of ease of use, the simplicity of iMessage, FaceTime, hooking it up to My MacBook, apps look more polish and professional and everything just work especially if is jailbroken. I also like to resell my phones at good prices and the demand for Apple is always high and people pay good.

Camera I really don't care the iPhone is good enough, if I want to take pictures that look stunning I use my canon profesional camera.

I really want to love this note 5 but I know I will end up right where I started with Apple.

I may try this for fun, but I have had adroid before. Really it comes down to three things for me.
iMessage, Facetime and app quality.

App quality is a wash and is basically the same.imessage and face time is ios only though.

You can use Verizon messages if you have Verizon and it will show all your texts across any divice using it or Google hangouts but only hangout out users will show up across every device.

Hangouts and stock message app also has video calling but limited to other hangout users and Android users.

It's all open on Android but u need to use a service that most people are using.

90% of the people I talk to are using hangouts so its not an issue for me but can be a huge pain for ios users.

I just don't get why apple don't make it cross platform. I would pay 3.99 for it just to get rid of the hassle of a few ios users not being able to imessage me.

DELETE, testing things still..

VoLTE seems to be for T-Mobile currently and if you disable, it might help battery life.

I picked up the note 5 on sunday and so far I am very happy with it. I actually could see myself sticking with it and ditching my iPhone 6 Plus. I have some time to decide within my return window so I will see how I feel at the end of it, but I might have found my next phone for the year.

Tested out the Note 5 camera yesterday... Here's 5 photos each to compare to the iPhone 6 Plus... Shot in auto mode. No edits or anything.

just received my s6 edge plus this morning. It's a huge phone!!! I am coming from iphone 6 so it will take some time getting used to the size of the s6 edge plus. I like the overall design so far but am I the only one who dislikes the display? I mean I like how sharp it is but the color just doesn't feel natural to me. The iPhone has a very natural and comfortable display. I tried different settings but none of them feel that comfortable.

iPhone 6 plus is the winner there IMO.

I'd love to review this program.

However, it has now been a week, and Samsung claims to still be out of test drive phones...

I'd think they'd be smart and have more phones in stock exactly a week after the release of the program, and, the same day apple annouced it's next iPhone annoucement event.

You are not alone, a lot of people prefer the Lcd screen as it is more natural, even with photos.

I understand, I just know some people come in here and do that lol. Are you using the stock Samsung keyboard? I know the stock keyboard has some lag here and there. I use Swiftkey and have no lag when typing because typing lag is extremely frustrating. The first thing I do is install Swiftkey and Nova Launcher.

Samsung's new stock keyboard is actually developed & powered by swiftkey ...

I remember in the Edge thread or could have been S6 thread a user here also had issues with the keyboard that couldn't be resolved until they switched units.

They tried resetting and third party keyboards to no avail.

Is there any way to make Safari browser scrolling less laggy on iPhone 6 and 6 Plus? I can scroll through this long article on an older 2012 Note II in like 4 secs while it takes forever on the iPhones. Note 5 is even faster than Note II.

http://live.theverge.com/apple-wwdc-2014-live-blog/

You do persist in an attempt at trolling ...

There is no lag or stutter when scrolling that page. The only difference between it and on android devices is the scrolling inertia settings which differ to how scrolling acceleration is handled on Android to iOS.

Yay at last photos with the Note 5. Both look excellent but the extra benefit of course comes with the Note 5's increased resolution which means you'll be able to crop into those photos and achieve better crops (keeping more clarity and definition) than the iPhone due to the sheer number of extra pixels the Note 5 has.

That's where the 16mp in the Note 5 / Edge / S6 & Edge + really shine.

Great shots though and thanks for sharing them.

The colors look better/richer/less washed out on the iPhone 6+ though.

Yeah the iPhone when shooting auto HDR and in daylight does tend to boost colour on iPhones. Which can give really great blue skies and such, whereas the Samsung does this less so, more concentrating on levelling the shadows / midrange areas.

I like both effects and there are times when I really want saturated skies, but then there are times I prefer a little subtlety too, so I think it's a preference / subjectively that can work both ways depending on individual and the situation.

Certainly however neither is poor that's for certain :)

Try photo mode for your display settings. Looks very natural to me. andriod uses very vibrant colours for it os and ios more a muted pastel shade so it takes some getting used to. Could also be your not used to all that extra contrast that amoled screens give you compared to lcd ;). Oled should be superior to lcd but it might be a tad less accurate. Still can't wait to buy an OLED tv when they become mainstream and affordable.

Going to play a little devils advocate here. They are giving you a phone to test for a dollar when has apple done that? Apple doesn't even have enough stock to keep up with demand for like at least a couple months when they launch a new phone at regular price so you should be used to waiting for a phone. ;)

Sadly whatever Samsung has done lately to Photo mode and Basic mode with the S6/6E/Note5/6E+ they have, whilst dealing down saturation - for some reason they changed the white balance on these modes for the worse.

Compare a white page with basic & photo mode enabled and you will see that have made whites more yellow cast than neutral and so it can look a worse now with basic mode than with Adaptive display. Not sure why they made this adjustment to the white balance, all previous version of hardware never did this - whites remained neutral and clear.

I hope they don't keep that colour balance going forward because I used to always use Basic mode, but now it just looks a bit sickly.
