Going to play a little devils advocate here. They are giving you a phone to test for a dollar when has apple done that? Apple doesn't even have enough stock to keep up with demand for like at least a couple months when they launch a new phone at regular price so you should be used to waiting for a phone. ;)

Don't most carriers and Apple have a 14 day no quibble return policy. Many have used that here for years. Whilst your only charged $1 up front for the Samsung test, they pre-authorise payment in case you decide to keep it. As soon as you go over the test period you are billed.

That's not massively different to paying for your device up front, using the device and returning it within your 14 days and getting your money back / refunded.

Either way - you get far better service than Europe where we do not have this 14 day returns policy or trials.

I picked up the note 5 on sunday and so far I am very happy with it. I actually could see myself sticking with it and ditching my iPhone 6 Plus. I have some time to decide within my return window so I will see how I feel at the end of it, but I might have found my next phone for the year.

Play with it a lot as it take a lot to get used to. I went back and forth a few times because I didn't give Android enough of a chance in the beginning. Granted ios was still a lot better than Android when I first tried a Samsung galaxy when I couldn't find an iphone 4 to buy. Currently Android is more functional operating system for the end user. Code and writing apps might still be in ios's favour but what do I care I don't do that.

You do persist in an attempt at trolling ...

There is no lag or stutter when scrolling that page. The only difference between it and on android devices is the scrolling inertia settings which differ to how scrolling acceleration is handled on Android to iOS.

Oh boy, did you just tell this person he/she is trolling for giving his/her OWN user experience with lag? You of all people should be understanding of one experiencing lag. Wow.

No. There is no pre authorization for the full amount. All that is authorized and charged is the $1. I feel like it's a little risky because people technically could pay with a debit card and then report it lost or stolen and get away with fraud. But it's a risk they clearly are willing to take
Edit: Their debit card not the phone.

What has Samsung's aggressive ram issues which are 'real' & likewise are not 'lag' have to do with this. I have never once referred them as such. As for the poster - just like yourself he continuously attempts to have a dig at other devices irrelevant to the current discussion topic at hand .. I'm sure you however can empathise with him completely as your post history displays more than a similar pattern of behaviour. I may have criticised Samsung over issues with its recent software, but I have done so in 'relevant' and appropriate topics. If you have a problem with evidential and provable FACTS, then simply add me to your ignore list.

Wow that sounds incredibly financially risky for Samsung. Are you sure they don't pre-authorise - which wouldn't show up on your CC or Debit Card statement - it simply allows them to check funds are available should they need to charge ??

Sorry big difference between a 14 day return policy vs 30 test trial. The biggest being 16 days to really get used to the new device and the fact that you don't pay up front putting all that cash out to fully buy the product.

Also in Canada carriers limit how much you can use you phone before your ability to return it expires. A certain amount of call minutes and a certain abount of data usage.

You have to read the t and c; you can claim the phone was stolen, but you owe them a phone or $720. Or get sued. They do have your phone and carrier.

Yes yours gonna owe them. I was stating you claim you card lost or stolen. It is risky for them because they can't just draft the money from you if you don't return it. Of course you will owe them but there is no collateral really and truly.

Really ? Wow - that does change things, but yeah here as soon as you open the box you can not return unless it's faulty. No change of mind policy here for hardware at all :(

This is a matter of you completely rejecting someone else's user experience. Who are you to do so? Unlike you, I prefer not to debate user experience. Because it's subjective. You talk as if your experiences are the only legit ones. What a joke. Did it hurt you that much to hear a person was experiencing lag in Safari?

What lag ? The page he claims lags on every iPhone.

There is no lag in that page ... end of.

There is a difference in the way inertia scrolling is implemented - but as you can clearly see - there is no lag, scrolling remains smooth throughout.

The difference when I complain about something - I make sure it can be evidentially proven and that its not just 'opinion' ...

Oh yeah, tell me about it. I waited a month for my 6+ and 2 months for my 5S. I'm just very impatient :p

App quality is a wash and is basically the same.imessage and face time is ios only though.

You can use Verizon messages if you have Verizon and it will show all your texts across any divice using it or Google hangouts but only hangout out users will show up across every device.

Hangouts and stock message app also has video calling but limited to other hangout users and Android users.

It's all open on Android but u need to use a service that most people are using.

90% of the people I talk to are using hangouts so its not an issue for me but can be a huge pain for ios users.

I just don't get why apple don't make it cross platform. I would pay 3.99 for it just to get rid of the hassle of a few ios users not being able to imessage me.
When I say app quality I really mean just eye candy not function. IOS apps tend to take the look and feel of IOS overall..

My situation is different in that 95% of my family and friends are on IOS. So imessage and facetime are huge for me. My parents are not tech savvy and would be lost if I tried a 3rd party app.

Not really following but can you post an example so I can see the difference.

Most apps look exactly the same to me
