No overheating, performance is great.

Downsides:
A) It's too big for trouser pockets. Unless I can find someone to rectify all my pockets I'll get rid of it and never buy another phone so large

B) The screen is not uniform- warm at top and blueish at the bottom. Might have to swap it for that reason

My thoughts on having the 15 PM since launch day.

I use the action button almost daily. IMHO it's easier to put the phone in silent mode than it was with the old switch.

I've had no overheating issues with the 15PM. This was totally a non-issue for me from go.

The USB C connector came in useful on a recent cruise and flight back and forth. I took one cable to charge my phone, one USB C brick to charge all my devices. Big fan of the USB C.

I'm a new phone every year guy anyway, but overall I'm as happy as I've been with any other PM upgrade.
I do as well. Before I got the 15PM, I was concerned about switching between silent and ring modes, but this is easier. Though you can't tell the current state just by touch, you can press the button and feel the haptic response: if it's not the one you want, press it again.

This shines when the phone is on a nightstand being charged wirelessly. The old way, I'd have to put the switch on silent and place it on the charger to prevent it from making a sound and waking my wife, then put it back in ring mode. This was awkward with the switch. It's much simpler pressing the action button with my thumb.

Review: 2 months with no remaining payments on my Apple iCard for my iPhone Pro 13: it's pretty great!

Why do people still use screen protectors? Honest question. Don't they degrade the screen experience? Have they been a lifesaver for dropped phones? I haven't used a screen protector in 10 years and don't feel the need for one.
Some of them claim they filter blue light. Does the iPhone screen filter blue light?

Wow, still overheating. I thought they had fixed that.

Edit: Adding time in video for those that only read the post and think I'm making stuff up.
TL;DR: It happens occasionally when charging (both wired and wireless) and when it does happen the phone gets very hot.
Since the software fix, I haven't had a single incidence of overheating. If you're experiencing heating, it's probably a hardware issue. Replace the phone.

The iPhone 15 PM was the second round of new phone(s) that I was happy to pass up. My 13 PM has worked flawlessly since day with zero issues. Oh, and my battery health just dropped from 100% to 99% just last month. Still looking and working like a champ. No need for me to upgrade unless the next version has some serious "oohs and ahhs" that my 13 PM doesn't have.

I use the action button to pull up a list of shortcuts that set scenes for my smart lights.

But for me the biggest gain from the action button is that now the mute switch is stateless. So I can create an automation that turn my ringer on when I am charging and turn on vibrate when I stop charging. 99% of the time my phone is in my pocket, in my hand or charging. I want it silent when I have it on me, but I do like it to ring if it's not. And you can set the automation to only ring if your at home or not at work etc to dial it in how you like it.

I use the Action Button to quickly bring up my home's eight live outdoor security cameras on the screen. Very handy.

I hope an iOS update provides more functionality to the button. As an example:

1 click: Bring up outdoor security cameras.

2 clicks: Bring up Apple's camera app

3 clicks: Bring up Blackmagic's camera app

4 clicks: Bring up Apple Notes app

Or something like that.

Ok, I'm curious...

How much do you use your phone during the day and what kind of charging do you do?

From what I understand about iPhone batteries, to keep the battery from discharging during use, it would need to be plugged in to use mains power. If you're using it unplugged, you're going through cycles and that should deplete your battery health?

But then, I see this... I had my battery replaced about 18 months ago and I'm back at 80%. I've been at 80%. Battery health is excellent though. My aunt's iPhone 8 is at 83% but needs servicing. She's had that for maybe 4 years.

I will hold my judgement on the action button until I get to use it (do not want a 15 pro or pro max).
But years of muscle memory on a toggle switch with tactile feel is not gonna be easy.

I’ve been using my 15 Pro Max for the last couple of months and it’s barely any different than the 14 Pro Max I had before it. The Action Button isn’t revolutionary. In fact, I accidentally press it sometimes and accidentally mute my phone. Never had that problem with the switch. USB-C has been a non-issue since I use MagSafe for my charging needs. I feel like I paid for an iPhone 14 Pro Max a second time and feel kinda stupid, TBH.
Agreed. This has been one of the smallest updates ever. If it wasn’t for usb-c, this would have been the first generation I would have skipped.

Actually the article did say they have a hard time getting used to using it. I set it up as my main shortcut when getting home at night...turns off driveway lights, turns on main house lights, turns on bedroom mode lights, turns on AppleTV and gets it ready on YoutubeTV.
You must be single? My wife would be like wtf

You’re holding it wrong.

Sorry I couldn’t resist

It's been an okay-ish upgrade from the 13 ProMax. My main issue has been with Apple Pay which is very spotty for me. Phone 13 was always reliable, but with 15PM I frequently have to use my watch as a backup. In hindsight, I should have waited at least one more iPhone cycle to see more of a speed and camera bump.
Which part of NM are you from?
