ridiculous delay from 7200 rpm HD

I should have chosen this method before, but at least it demonstrates order status on the website updates quite frequently with regard to changes made by Apple support. Whether it is updated that frequently from the warehouse, that is another matter.

Well I think I have been a numskull too because I accepted the default meaning there are 7 days between estimated shipping and delivery - is this correct?

My shipping method is Fast Ship (EMEA) and I guess i'll have to call apple to change? can you confirm? thanks

sorry it ws the shipping method of "2 days" I over looked you post -

I just gave apple a call and they said that the earliest I will get mine is the dates I already have and I also have the fastest shipping method? which is not "2 days"? but guess I'll just have to wait, he did say it may arrive a couple of days earlier than expected....:rolleyes:

On the phone now with Apple for the same thing. Got the world's slllooooowwwwwest/clueless :mad: operator. Didn't outright ask for n/c shipping upgrade, but kept asking questions that I knew she couldn't answer or would have to keep putting me on hold for. They still can't/don't know answer the discrepancy for orders from Jun5 vs shipping estimates for new orders. Ended up getting n/c upgrade on the shipping. Yay. :D
 
I just got off the phone with Apple and the young man told me that he still shows the 7200 as being on backorder and not shipping until July 18, so he gave me no encouraging words at all.:mad: However, I am not paying with a cc, but I do have an auth hold on my account from Apple for $1.00 that showed up early this morning (actually it was placed yesterday, but didn't post until today). I sure can't imagine what they will possibly do with $1.00 unless it is to verify the money is available. The auth hold expires tomorrow so I guess I should really try to show more restraint and patience, Oh, and hope for the best.
 
Just talked to apple. The girl I talked to did not know to much. She did say once they take your money that whatever you have ordered will usually ship within three days.
 
I just called apple again. The woman said that it states 5-7 business days on the website because that's what it would be with no backorder. According to her, there is a backorder because of such high demand, and the 5-7 business days on the website is wrong. I asked her why then the delay changed from 4-6 weeks to 5-7 business days. She had no answer and just kept on repeating the same crap. This is kind of annoying.

The UK apple store shows a 4-6week wait now and I'm sure when i did this earlier today it said 7 days? never mind - maybe they realised there was a problem...... or there would be alot of disgruntles customers if the new orders arrive first?!!

No its never changed, always has said 4-6 weeks
 
if it's a mistake, it's a pretty huge mistake, given that a bunch of us now have pending charges on our credit cards. i'd trust that over the apple customer service reps. they do not seem to be a well-informed bunch!

i very much doubt an unresolved pending charge would linger long on a credit card. i'd wager that within the next couple days or so it will either disappear (mistake) or be charged (shipping!).
 
Maybe I should've ordered the 17" one, they ship in 24h... But then I have to buy a new backpack because it wouldn't fit in the one I have at the moment.
Aargh! This is driving me insane!!!
 
Hi, just read the 17 pages of that thread... Interresting! So no shipping yet? Order mine June 13th, deliver by August 2nd. Hope to receive it before that. Canada store also state a 5 to 7 day shipping. If nothing change until thursday or friday I'll call them to try to know what happen...

It seems that both of you ordered the glossy. Hopefully my June 10th matte order will be shipped soon as well.
