Just looked at my training data from my last runs and noticed strange power data.

E.g. my run yesterday was a steady run on flat ground and after about an hour, the training app measured bizarre power data:

Today, I did 10 hill repeats (easily to be identified in the chart) and then jogged home on flat ground. Same bizarre power data:

Anyone else with this strange behavior?

Yes I have seen this for a couple of months...

Public Beta out - have any of you tried the new update for running intervals? Seems like the UI is updated for better seeing what the next section is

Not doing beta versions as I don't want to risk upgrading my iPhone too.

Better interval display would be appreciated. The font is very small and I would like to see the interval count also. Do they have that now?

Yeah it looks like we have count (left top) and option to show next at the bottom. The count is so nice addition - When doing 8 x 1.000 meters for example I completely loose count sometimes and it's always nice to know when the final one comes up so I can push a bit more

Great! Yes, I regularly loose count on intervals. On the summary page after an interval there is - if I remember correctly - the current interval number. But as this summary page is only a few seconds there, having this information permanently is really cool.

The new weekly and monthly complications are pretty nice - ton of options and kind of odd, that the monthly widget is not available on the iPhone app - You can press in on the weekly and see distance for month, but without the "last month" or what the grey means?

90% sure mine did not? Might be wrong but have been running with it a lot and missed it completely until the first run with watchOS 11

Look, this is from my AWU2 running watchOS 10:

It is hard to read for me and I would prefer having this info also on the running screen.

Wow how did I miss that for a full year running intervals with the Ultra. At least they made it white and more clear.

Also would prefer it on the main screen

When seeing the screenshot on a big monitor, one could think that it can be easily read on a AW screen. For me who needs glasses but runs without glasses, it is barely readable. Also, when there are targets attached to the intervals, they are in an even smaller font and in an even worse readable colour, I think brown or something like that.

Now that we have the best screen of all sports watches, this should be an easy task, one could think. ;-)

And for that, may I present the Ultra 3. It’s the best Apple Watch we have ever made and we think you’re gonna love it

Hey, not sure if there's any Czech runners here, anyway... we have track detection, finally!!! 🇨🇿 🥳 (Watch OS 10.5 - not a beta)

It hasn't been there earlier this month when I was training on the track, but the option popped up on me on today's race, so they've enabled it sometime in July.

Nice! Really love this feature - precise and fast to snap on

+1

Amazing feature. On a 400m lap about 1m deviation.
Talking about features - have any of you managed to export the Strava routes to an Apple Watch app? Blows my mind Strava haven’t incorporated this in the (very bad) Strava Watch app.

Currently on vacation in Italy and Strava is pretty great for exploring routes with different lengths but I have to run with my phone in my hand and that sucks (other than the option to snap a picture)

Not using Strava, sorry. When I am on vacation, I typically use Footpath for doing routes with turn-by-turn navigation alerts. Or Workoutdoors when it is sufficient for me to see the route and being alerted when I leave it.

If there is a an option to export a GPX out of Strava, it should be easy to import it in Footpath oder WOD.

Second the option to use Footpath. It is the best on the AW I have found so far. The new beta version allows you to sync multiple routes to the app for offline usage. The app also allow you to use the native workout app simultaneously while using Footpath.

On another note, I am a HUGE Apple Watch Ultra lover, and also own a Garmin FR965. I love my AW and trail run and cycle quite a bit. I was really hoping for a huge jump in mapping and navigation this time around. I will say, sadly, that the mapping and route navigation implementation on this new version of Watch OS and IOS is embarrassingly bad. Like, it's the worst I have ever seen.

I do not understand why Apple has left this completely up to the Apple Maps team to do such a piss poor implementation of this easy to implement feature. Even if they claim that they are doing this for the masses, it is so poorly implemented, that no one will use this and enjoy it.

I did a neighborhood route that I created in Apple Maps, and synced it to my watch. You have to use both apps by the way, maps and workout. I purposefully went the wrong way a few times to see what the map would do. Would it reroute me? Give me a notification that I was going the wrong way? Give me options? No, it does none of those things. It's really disappointing, and seems like a wasted opportunity. And dont get me started on the compass app backtrack feature. How is that helpful without a map?

So I will hope for the best in the future, and continue using Footpath.

I just needed to rant about that!

How do you get the beta version of Footpath?

And even without a Garmin I completely agree with Apple and the maps. It was my number one wish for the WatchOS 11 update and it was not even close to being worth it

I don't recall how I got on the beta train w Footpath. I think I emailed the developers through the app and now I just keep getting TestFlight invitations whenever they have a beta.

Okay thanks for the push - seems to drain the battery quite a lot, but it has a great UI and love that it splits my run up on the fly in the individual elevation points.

It kind of screwed up and made a fitness run from workout app and from the Footpath app. Must be my error.

You can set „Use with other Fitness app“ on the main screen of Footpath.

(Roughly translated)
