Gotta be in it to win it
Or in your view, a legitimate case without an investigation. Let's just agree to say any case is just a report until it's investigated. But when someone doesn't want to hand over the device... ;) Yeah, I'll just wait for the investigation, if there is one.
You certainly can wait, your prerogative. But I'm not dismissing it as hyperbole until Samsung comes back with a denial of culpability. I agree some more input to clarify the situation is needed, but won't automatically dismiss this out of hand.

Im buying a Note 7 today at lunch & AT&T. I am not afraid as China has been known to be lying on many of the reports so far.

It's a real shame Samsung is having these issues. They have, pound for pound, the best smartphone in the world, and it all unraveled because of something very stupid. They gave Apple a huge gift this year.

I was highly tempted to return to android this year for the Note 7, but given these difficulties I've re-upped with Apple for another year with the JB7+.

Looking forward to the Note 8 though.

I expect Samsung to punch back hard next year coming from this fiasco.A potential 4K OLED display is rumored which is amazing

None of my local AT&T shops have Note 7's in stock. Not even on display and no ETA on new inventory.

Seems like a real waste of battery life to be honest. Even on a Note 4 you cannot tell apart the pixels unless you're using VR. Seems a lot like doing it for the sake of specs on paper.

You can order for pickup at Best Buy. They will sell it to you that way. I just got my AT&T Note 7 in my hands..now just trying to figure out how to transfer my stuff including my texts to it.

VR is one of many selling points for me. 4K will have such a higher pixel density, that the display will be amazingly crisp. I already notice how much more crisp the Note 7(2K) display is compared to the iPhone 7+(1080).

oh well, it's time for Samsung to make a new batch of phones with a black triangle on the box and a blue battery logo.

:)

I'm still on the fence, if this saga goes on, it will destroy any resale value for the Note7. I will wait for the Pixel to be released.

It might sound silly, but I lurked here for many years. I was an Apple user (still love them) but I have moved over to Android mostly. This forum is what opened my eyes to Android. And I have read this forum for years. Many people out there who are not participating truly come to this site as a resource for opinion and reviews. Not all of us can afford to buy a new phone every couple months. So you help us make a decision. Some of you are really all stars whether you know it or not. You have influenced a lot of people. And this forum used to be great tucked away in here outside of xda, reddit, android forums.... you could get real balanced talk.

But something changed and those days are done. I guess it was the Note scandal but it started before that. People are becoming too personally and emotionally influenced by a piece of electronics. They side with corporations. There is no more clear headed and balanced discussion. @jamezr was great.... he owned many phones. I respected him for years. But even he went off the deep end a bit with the Note 7 stuff. And I don't really blame him. I have tried to participate here recently but it just makes you crazy. @MRU is honestly one of the few left with any sense of reality. And I am not sure even he is able to take it anymore.

Sorry for getting so personal. I'll probably get banned for this but that is OK, I am done here for good. I know it is a silly forum, but it really is a loss of a great resource for many of us.
Your time here was less than Allardyce in the England job, but all the best.

VR is awesome and a huge selling point for me as well. I even prefer this over the HTC Vive, which I briefly owned. Being untethered is much nicer, although I miss the Vive wands and hope Samsung makes some wands one day.

Might be a silly forum but getting toasted by a phone is not a silly thing at all.

I definitely notice a difference between 1080P and 1600P so 4K would be a very pleasant upgrade. And that's not all.6 gigs of ram along with SD 830 support for LPDDR4X RAM ,30 MP camera with OSI,built in projector and a very remote possibility of a dual curved display. The inner geek in me is fangasming .4200 mah battery.Damn

It seems they are pulling out all the stops for next year in retaliation of the game changing iPhone 8.Samsung is going to need all the luck it can get .Apple can't afford to be complacent here either
