What is with the weird reddish discoloration and fuzzy effects? Is that supposed to look good? I personally would never want my footage to look that way

A good look at some of the new features.

Up to now, I've only seen YouTubers use the Live Focus video with max blur, where it made edge detection look not that impressive. There's no mention of levels of blur. Glad to see a YouTuber that does the Live Focus Video some justice, and shows you can adjust the amount of blur.

Ha, for poops and giggles I had my husband place a preorder via his unused and unwanted reservation email that I had also persuaded him to place. He got the same danged estimated delivery date I now have!:rolleyes:

They haven’t yet sent him the sad email telling him his order will be placed on hold pending the completion of my trade in. :p

He will let his order hang on a bit but he doesn’t want the phone. We were just curious.

Time for Zack to have his time with the Note !0+ 5G. For a guy who likes to destroy things, he's pretty funny. The one line where he says, "Remember, Apple makes the jokes, I just read the spec sheet," had me actually laughing unexpectedly. It's such an unexpected line and with a monotone delivery, how could you not laugh. lol

Anyway, here's the video.
Spoiler: The Note10 passes the test.

Yeah he’s good at poking fun at Apple and has definitely shown a lot of bias in favor of Samsung in his comments. But his tests are standardized and speak for themselves. I loon forward to the tear down because I did not succeed in finding the top speaker myself when I saw it at Best Buy. It sounded great though.

I’m glad I got the Aura Glow. The scratches don’t look as horrific as they would if color got removed.

I’m especially glad I didn’t give in to my fit of petulance and cancel my order out of spite and frustration at the delivery delay. And yeah I’m past that, and have moved on to “somewhat chagrined but resolved to my fate.” :p

I really think I’m going to enjoy that big rectangular display. And the S-Pen. I also hope I won’t endure the same weird proximity sensor issue that sometimes pops up during some of my calls.

That’s the one where my ear goes internet surfing on the display of my S10+ while I’m chatting with the phone up against my face. Apparently that’s not a fault that plagues everyone uniformly, so I hope that if my trade in of an otherwise delightful S10+ accomplishes something positive beyond minor spec upgrades, it will be getting rid of that little quirk. ;)

I must say I was rather impressed that the flimsy display protector actually seemed to do a proper job of protecting the display from the initial attempts to scratch through it. I wasn’t expecting that.

What is this nonsense that it's only a pen? I use my s pen daily for notes, quick sketches, and navigation. With the Note 10 (and 9), I can use the bluetooth function and take selfies, group shots, and some new animations. For me, the pen is fantastic. At this point, who else has a pen (the lg one is not even in the Note's league)?

So I'm not disputing what the pen can do. I used a Note 7 (before it had to go back...) And I loved the S-Pen. What I'm saying is, I'm not seeing anyone buying a Note because of it. If so they'd have a Note 9 now and just be doing the yearly upgrade as they wouldn't be without it.

It's more underlining my point that pen aside, there's not much between the Note and the S, from what I can see.

If it makes you less chagrined, it seems my device hasn't shipped yet, as I've not received an email notification yet. I spoke to Samsung customer service, they said shipping started today, but didn't necessarily mean all pre-orders would get shipped today. As long as mine goes out by Friday, I'll be OK. But any later after that..... Lol

But it acts like a magic wand! (Wonder if Sammy will push out a Hogwarts version) or for practicing orchestra conductors!:p

Seriously though, I think they could have stuffed the r&d from the s pen into figuring out a way to add a 3 cent jack to the device other then to drive sales for their Galaxy buds.

I have bounced around a bit still on this device, the S10+ (only 100 bucks less ) or the note 9 (also 100 bucks less ), even looked at exynos versions! I'm not sure I can grab another Sammy device. Sure there is some added value but one person's added value is another's annoyance.

Still want to see this thing in person. :)

Argh......so I got the phone in today, and it's awesome, love the feel and size and its blazing fast. Unfortunately at&t wifi calling does not work and I've already had 3 missed calls today while at home, so the unlocked version is a no-go. So I have to return it and get an at&t model. I'm really starting to hate at&t, unfortunately I'm on an old grandfathered unlimited plan and it would be more expensive to go elsewhere.

Yeah I mean you’re pretty much correct in that assessment. There are improvements that are subtle and welcome but that’s always pretty much the case.

With that said, the last time I had a Note, I rarely used the pen, but when I did, I was always glad I had it. Signing PDF’s was a huge one.

I was so tempted to get unlocked so I could get $600 in trade for my S10+. However I sometimes need WiFi Calling. Not often but I had an unlocked Samsung on AT&T before and between waiting for updates and missing some features I was wary of taking a chance on unlocked.

If it were up to me I’d try T-Mobile or Verizon or someone else just to see what’s up with those carriers. But we had extended family on our plan and my husband didn’t want to uproot anybody. And though we gave up that plan that you have, we got a plan that fit us well and got discounted through them making up for past gross incompetence.

Ugh no, I’m only more chagrined on your behalf. That stinks.

You can flash the At&t firmware and get wifi calling, etc. Not sure if its available yet though.

Been to Samsung store at last they have the live display phones but the bonus gift doesn't look like $499 headphone.

Talk about spreading false rumors. What in the world are you talking about? Maybe time to recalibrate your monitor or get some new glasses.

Got it :)
