At last got it :D excited about the bonus gift as much as the phone haha...

I just picked it up. Will be opening it later. Came with the AU$500 headphones. Phone was wrapped with a bow and a handwritten note. Was impressed!
Good lord! :eek:

That’s fancy!

I’m hearing that the AT&T phones come inside an ugly cheap flimsy AT&T branded cardboard box. :rolleyes:

Oh well one of my phones arrived floating loose inside the shipping envelope and outside of its protective box which the manufacturer did not see fit to seal shut. :eek::confused: I can’t remember if that happened with my S10+ or my Pixel 3XL.

I think it was the s10+ because I know there was a dent in my display protector and I think I was worried that the screen itself took a hit. If I was worried about that, it must be because it had been floating loose inside nothing but a bubble envelope. But I have done so many unboxings they are starting to blur together. :rolleyes:

I have to say, the battery has been pretty solid on my first full day of use (I only had a half day's use yesterday). 10 hours of talk time coupled with 4 hours of screen time, and getting 14.5 hours of battery (with 7% remaining) is pretty good.

Note:
-WQHD selected
-Adaptive Power saving on
-I have wifi set to turn on and off automatically
-Bluetooth on (and in use the majority of the day)
-Link with Windows on
-Live wallpaper
-AOD on
-2 email accounts on push
-Screen brightness on auto

That's really good then - Is that the snapdragon?

Sorry I've asked this before but cant find the answer....

Does the note 10+ 5g come with dual sim capability or is that only the note 10+ 4g variant?

If @Oohara wants this I hope he can get one. He’s been wanting a big phablet for years.
Hey Grumps thanks for thinking of me! :) And you're right, I've always been on the hunt for the largest screen phone possible. But after going back to the store three times to test the Note 10+ now, sadly I have to finally accept that this isn't the phablet I'm looking for.

I've had a crush on the Note series since day 1, but for me this just keeps being that heartbreaking relationship which at first seems like a match made in heaven but in the end you're forced to accept that it just isn't working out. Because Samsung insists on taking the Note in a direction which doesn't speak to my needs at all: curved screen, screen size limited with pocketability in mind, S Pen which does a million things but none of those I really want it to...

My dream Note would be basically: screen size of the Mate 20 X (flat 7.2" amoled), notch/hole punch free like the OP 7 Pro to maximise the undisturbed screen area (the OP7 Pro will actually show a movie in a larger undisturbed widescreen format than the Note 10+ does), 90 Hz refresh rate again like the OP7 Pro, S Pen functionality geared towards productivity rather than remote control-like uses. Bam. That would be The One Device for me, my holy grail, which would let me drop all thoughts of tablets or combinations of phones and just have one mighty do-it-all device alongside my laptop. In my mind, what the Note series was destined to be.

But that's obviously not how they're thinking over at Sammy HQ.

About the S Pen... I have to actually bite my tongue here as I'm continually appal...bewildered by Samsung's choices regarding their pen. It seems to me there's a huge range of pen functions which would actually serve a professional/practical workflow but which Samsung just aren't interesting in pursuing. One example. If I could write a lock screen note and have it one-tap saved as converted text, in properly ordered rows from the top of a normal, lined document (not in a cluster placed corresponding to where on the screen the handwriting was, disregarding any lines), and perhaps simultaneously saved in the clipboard for immediate pasting elsewhere - that alone (plus a flat screen) would honestly be so danged useful to me that I'd slap down the $1100 for the Note 10+ without blinking.

Instead, as it stands, to convert text from a lock screen note I have to write the note, save it, go to the notes app and open it, tap the text I want to convert and tap convert. Which saves the text in a rather bisarre format, most often in a very odd spot on the note itself. And instead of polishing that category of practical functionality, Samsung has again added a bunch of idio...nonsensical S Pen tricks which will hardly ever get used after the first "omg lolz" test.

Ok now I started ranting... I had promised myself I wasn't gonna do that in this post :oops: Because I'm not out to poop on anyone's parade here. I know that I'm super picky with these things, and of course there's no doubt that the Note 10 Plus and Note 10 are awesome phones for anyone wanting simply a large screen flagship phone in 2019. But they're not for me and yeah, it makes me a little sad.

I'll never give up hope on the Note series though. DeX has definitely taken a step in the right direction now that it can be used with laptops (even Macs!!) and not just monitors. Samsung's relationship with Microsoft might be a promising beginning of something big. And now that the Note series has been divided into "large and larger", maybe, just maybe, Samsung will evolve that into one true productivity phone (pockets be damned, let's go YUUUUUUGE and FLAAAAAT!!) and one more "normal" flagship-with-a-pen. Who knows.

For now I'm instead planning to completely turn my phablet lust on its head and drop that whole category in order to carry a less cumbersome iPhone X/XS/11 (not the Max version) for "daily driver" tasks, and get me a iPad Pro 11" for my pencil and media consumption needs. Food for thought by the way, in considering pen-device options: the $1100 that the Note 10+ costs will actually get you an iPad Pro 11 + gen 2 Pencil AND an Apple keyboard case...

We'll see how that goes. Meanwhile, I'll definitely be missing having a 6-7" OLED Android device for on the go movie watching and reading...but for the moment my budget won't allow having one of those as well (I'm selling my OP 6T to help finance the other stuff).

Again, I'm really sorry if anyone feels like I'm being a Debbie Downer here, especially since people's orders are getting delivered as we speak... I'm not criticising anyone else's choice or preference, I just needed to lament a bit since this one turned out differently from what I personally was hoping for. Like I said, I know that this'll be a kick ass phone for anyone who's just out to get themselves some high quality flagship action, maybe with a bit of bonus S Pen action on the side. So enjoy your phones @GrumpyMom and the rest of you lot, and I hope they work out awesomely for y'all. I'll be back to whine or cheer again come next year and meanwhile l'll definitely be enjoying reading about your experiences here! :cool:

Just the Note 10+ 4G is dual sim. Unfortunately in some markets this rules out getting a dual sim 512gb phone.

Oohara , its always good to hear different views, everyone has priority on something, if you are not happy with N10 then be it don't burn your hard earned money :)

As for me i am over the moon, Note 10+ combines features that makes it the "dream phone" don't know how to express it but i knew i would love Note 10+ for its massive screen, power, looks , camera...etc...etc..

I probably haven't talked on the phone for 10 hours in the past calendar year. Do you work at a call center or something?

What screen protectors are you guys using?

I know the finger print sensor means that only certain protectors work with it.

Thanks, I really appreciate your comment because I'm always wary of coming off too negative or critical when I don't intend to be :) And me too I always like to read about everyone's different needs and preferences.....they are a good thing! I get tired of myself sometimes because I get so attached to certain ways of viewing things or a certain thing I envision and then can't get...

Great to hear that you're loving this phone and looking forward to hearing how you get on with it!

So I've been playing with this phone for a few hours now. Have to say, the more I use it the more I love it. I miss all the extra "Samsung-ities" in the phone that you don't really get with other Android phones. I was always one to like Samsung's skins.

The packaging was fantastic, came with a rather sturdy clear case too to show off that Aura look, though I think I'll keep using the LED Cover Case or whatever it's called. I also kept the screen protector on. Might keep it until I get a glass one. The bundled earphones are really nice, but the Bluetooth are something else. I actually like the gestures on the pen, especially with Spotify. Got used to the power button within minutes. Dislike the lack of a headphone jack a lot! Will try DeX out soon, but I'm mostly curious how it would run on my MacBook Pro (which still has Sierra and so is below the minimum requirements). I would like to have Linux on DeX eventually. The phone is FAST! I did turn off the top part of the screen to turn it into a bezel, looks really good to me. The haptic feedback is really good, almost as good as my iPhone X. Wireless PowerShare is surprisingly useful. Used it to charge up my iPhone X when it was dying. I had a few other things I wanted to add but I forgot :p

Can't tell the difference between QHD+ and FHD+, while HD+ is only slightly more blurry.

Got a new update today, might post the screenshot later, once I get the picture off of my phone.

Feel free to ask me anything.

Yes, it's the Snapdragon .

Lol. I'm a field tech, so I tend to be on the phone talking while I'm working and while I'm heading to different sites. Lol I guess that talk time adds up .

I don't use screen protectors or cases . Lol

Wish you could run DexX on linux soon, it will be interesting.

Went to look at the note 10 + this morning as I am currently android free.

My carrier is offering the s10+ with a £200 discount and has said they'll knock a further £100 off the price as I have several lines. Total cost of phone £605

Note 10+ is just shy of £1100

I like the note 10+ but not convinced its double the phone that the s10+ is considering the massive price difference?

There we go, finally figured out how to upload images. This is the screenshot of the update. It installed really fast. I still couldn't figure out how to get the image off of my phone without Android File Transfer (DeX and SmartSwitch dislike it), so I'm using DeX to upload. Turns out it runs perfectly fine on Sierra. There is a tiny bit of lag, and you can't really set the preferred resolution, so it's still not as good as using it on a monitor directly, but it's still good.

Of course it's not worth twice as much but most of that is due to you being in UK with really poor deals

Most elsewhere are paying far less when everything is considered

What you say about the S-Pen makes a lot of sense. I have not had a Note since my brief time with Note 7. I do remember using it to take notes got awkward trying to save and retrieve them. It is disappointing they ignored developing that aspect of its use.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Gosh Samsung customer service must be getting hammered by irate customers now. I've tried since yesterday and am in limbo now trying to get a sense of when my order really is arriving and what the hell happened to it. I saw on the Android Central forum another person in my position got an email from Samsung that apologized for the delay, offering a $50 credit toward new purchases and explaining the delay as something caused by AT&T, and a promise the phone would be delivered Monday. Even though their account status still says 9/4.
I haven't gotten any emails. And while an apology and $50 would be appreciated, the communication would be appreciated more. If mine is also coming Monday as some wonky surprise, I need to know. Because I am stuck with one of those mandatory school events I grumbled about.
So it's problematic if our online delivery status info isn't aligning with what's really happening with the shipping. (On top of that, even after shipping many people are struggling with FedEx delivery snafus).
But I can't get through to a person to find anything out for sure. :mad:
I'm a reasonable and patient and polite customer, so looking back over their customer service snafus with me, I think I can be forgiven if I start to contemplate making this my last dance with Samsung.
I've tried their phone support. I've tried online. Whenever there's a new product launch there ends up being a period of time their customer service is completely inaccessible.
I'm typing this on my S10+ while the battery drains on my iPhone waiting to be connected to a person at Samsung. :rolleyes:
Now Ay. Don't be coming on with your logic and rational thinking, and on launch day of all days!
Lol
Sorry :(:(:(:(
Yep prices a bit sad in UK, was there last week and Rome
You need a mate travelling back from Asia ;)
Just checked even though you missed the goodies worth 300 UK Pounds a Note10+ 256GB would be 765 Pounds UK if you include airport tax rebate at 5% for tourists
