Surely 100w charging will lead to batteries wearing out much more quickly.

I’m sure they’ll ensure it’s all god for the batteries, I know in the Mate 20 Pro and P30 Pro Supercharger it varies the Wattage, it doesn’t stay at 40W all the way as there’s constant temperature monitoring and a large portion of the heat is taken by the charging brick, depending on the battery temp. charging speed is adjusted.

They wouldn’t do this only for us to get batteries that cannot last a year with it.

I don’t know, they almost launched a folding device that doesn’t work properly. lol

Well played
And we all know what happened when they put a bigger battery in their phone.

Oh well, hopefully this is safe.
Being serious, I'd like to think they'd make sure there's no detrimental effect on the battery long term. It does sound extreme though, 2.5 x faster than anything else out there.

Yeah going for having the most powerful fast charger on the market is kind of a bold move for the Note series of all phones. I'm honestly not sure if I'd want to set my Note 10 to charge next to me and go to sleep for the night with that 100w monstrosity churning away... And that's coming from someone who didn't make a single troll post after having his Note 7 preorder get cancelled after the...incident ;)

At 100w, it would be fully charged before your head hit the pillow!

Haha you make a good point sir. Even though I first read "it would explode before your head hit the pillow" :D

Anyway, fast charging is cool and all but I don't need it to charge any faster than my 6T and it's 20w brick. Wish they would spend their time on something else like polishing the S Pen software, or...flattening the display :p

I'm sure the fastest on a Samsung is currently 22w? So to jump to 100w seems more like "because we can", rather than a practical progression.

I don't really mind curved screens but I do find them annoying when watching media full screen, more so than a notch. And the Note 10 probably being 6.7" and will be seen as the ultimate multi media/power user smartphone. And to me, a curved screen doesn't fit with that.

Seriously, if you are burning through a 4000 mAH in half a day and need to recharge you definitely should spend a lot less time on your phone. I rarely see less then 40% battery when I charge before bed on my Note 9. Also for reference, the average 55" LED TV only uses 57 Watts. You guys also know lithium ion batteries have no memory right? You want to top it off often to avoid cycles. The higher the cycle count the more wear and tear you put on the battery. 1 cycle count equals a full drain and recharge. The less cycles the better the capacity. When I'm at my office I top off my battery often to keep ideal battery health.

So that is the best part about Fast Charging at these levels, much like how I never ever charged my Huaweis overnight, you would not really do it with the Note10 at 100W. All I did with the Huaweis is charge them when I woke up and by the time I was ready to leave they were 100%.

100W Charging is 2.5x faster, you’d probably plug in for about 25-40minutes maximum and have 100%, depending on heat etc...

True that does in fact do away with overnight charging. What I mean though is that with my 6T that is pretty much already the case for me. I feel like these days all I ever have to do is top up my battery now and then and the 6T brick at 20 w is already doing a stellar job with that. So I'm unsure if 100w is actually useful or just overkill.

Of course I'd be an ungrateful fool to complain about improved fast charging in any form so this is truly 1st world problem whining I know :p But it just doesn't wow me as much as "100w" sounds like it would, if you know what I mean.

I would like a bit faster charging on the iPhone. It’s great for quick top up but it still takes me about 1 hour 40 minutes to charge using my 61 W fast charger. I know it can’t use the whole 61 W.

Oh hell yes, fast charging is a whole other story on iPhone lol... I know it's far from one of the latest models at this point, but charging my 7 Plus feels like such a damn chore since I got the 6T.

I'm cool with Sammy bringing 100w to the Note, but what really would get my juices flowing is if Timmy did it. Hell that might even get me to consider shelling out that obscene amount of cash for a Max.

The Xs max supports fast charging which is faster than using the iPad charger which I used on previous models but it’s not as fast as say fast charging on a Samsung phone.

True it does support it. But as you say it's not as fast as on many Android phones, and on top of that they make you buy an extra charger + cable to use that functionality at all. Unless you have those from another device of course. But in my case it'd be like a €50 extra cost just to get faster but still slower charging than on my 6T, and only up to 50% if I understand correctly.

The only reason I bought the fast charger was because I could use it with my iPad Pro as well.

This sounds a lot like Wireless Desktop Projection on the Mate 20 Pro and P30 Pro, if it is, then it’s awesome to see another Android OEM doing wireless Desktop UI.
Galaxy Note 10 Dex Live Could Beam to Desktops Wirelessly
Samsung might have a new method for getting you to beam your Galaxy Note 10 screen to your desktop.

The folks over at GalaxyClub on Wednesday (May 29) discovered a trademark application Samsung filed in the European Union that describes a new device called the "Dex Live." In the description, Samsung said that the device is "application software, namely, for projecting the screen of mobile device to displays via computer peripheral devices and wireless networks."

I’m using Apple’s 61 W charger.

I know the XS Max does about 1h50mins with the 30W Fast Charger, while the S10+ does about 1h40, so that’s why I am surprised you are seeing a significant variance between them.

At least going by these tests

I am thinking of getting the 30W charger, but we’ll see
I am now addicted to this damn thing.

Anyway let’s see what Note10 brings, May have another upgrade between this year and next year, I really miss having an SPen.
