I made one of my wife when I caught her making a goofy face that made me chuckle, but she didn't take too kind to it. She made me delete it, but thank you Samsung for the secure folder. :D

Haha, yeah the secret folder and the dual messenger features, I'm sure, have kept many relationships from blowing up. Lol

Probably saving that for next year or the year after. They like to milk it.
Yeah see that's the thing - when you're a monolopy on a winner of an ecosystem, you can stretch out feature releases more than those competing in the Android sphere.

I used to think Apple needed to pay more attention to Samsung etc. & although they do, it's not so critical to keep up feature-wise, as they're the only ones with IOS-equipped smartphones & know their demographic will stick with them, even if they have to wait a year or two to catch up. The refinement & harmony of the Apple environment's a happy place to be for most subscribed to IOS...

That’s why they can get away with it. Even as much as I moan about it I still stick with them.

I have had some of the most frustrating experiences with my two iPhones over the past two weeks and it's really making me consider going Android only.

Two weeks ago, I sold and S3 Watch on this forum and shipped it to the buyer. Not being certain that I removed the activation lock, the buyer received it and told me it was activation locked. I gave him my iCloud info so he could move past that and get it working and he did.

After he confirmed it was working with his phone, I changed my iCloud password. This is where it all went bad. I had to change the password on all six of the iPhones I have around here. Not just once on every single iPhone but on each iPhone after entering the new password, it would tell me it couldn't be done at this time and to try later. When it would accept the password on each iPhone, two minutes later, I was prompted again, sometimes as much as 15 times over several hours. I got so frustrated, I lost my temper and threw my 8+ against a wall. Luckily the Apple leather case protected it and there was no damage to the phone.

This constant prompting happened on half of these iPhones and on my 8+, I was prompted again to enter my password and it's been over two weeks since this mess started.

I also had the enter my password on all three of my Apple TVs and the same thing happened on two of them, just constantly being prompted to enter my password.

I've never had this experience on Android and this constant password prompting has happened in the past as well when I've changed the password.

It's prevented me from trying to sell my other watches on this forum for fear of having to constantly enter my password again. And again.

I'm always hearing how amazing password management and facilitation is on iOS?

I guess it's not always smooth sailing, when I set up my Note 9, Google kept bugging me about various logins, I got a yes/no prompt to confirm whether I knew if the device being used was legit, kind of annoying at the time but actually quite good in retrospect.

Lol @ throwing your phone, sounds like something my partner would do in frustration, (sorry, not a dig but I seriously laughed reading it) :)

I get password prompts without even changing anything on my iMP. Just last week I got one. Simply logging in doesn't help. So I remove my iCloud account completely, and then set up iCloud from scratch. That seems to help, and everything works after that like a charm.

But this doesn't happen often, but when it does, it's annoying like hell.

It is annoying. As I said above, it's been over two weeks now since I changed my password and i'm still getting prompts on my Apple watch that I need to enter my password on my iPhone. I go to my iPhone and there is no prompt to enter my password. I get that alert about ten times each day.

All you had to do was remove the Apple Watch from your “find my iPhone” app.

That’s your activation lock right there.
It’s tied to your account until you release it.

Probably should have asked someone in the Apple Watch forum for advice.

I removed it from my iCloud account where it lists all my Apple devices. That's what I understood I had to do and that was apparently not correct at all.

Yes.
But as a security feature once an iOS device is tied to your account, in case of theft, it won’t be released until you delete it from the “find my iPhone” app on any iOS device. That’s what locks it from re-pairing. It’s an additional step.

I only posted because you mentioned you had other Apple Watch devices, it would be frustrating to go though it again.

Do you share your iCloud account with anyone else?

If you turn on 2fa it should get rid of all the prompts.

That’s a terrible experience to go through.
best of luck.

You threw an iPhone 8 Plus against a wall...and the Apple leather case protected it????!!!!:eek: Well I guess now I know to go ahead and order one for my Maximum Xcess when it gets here...eventually. I was thinking of ordering the Apple leather case but didn’t know if it would protect as well as the silicone case. I dropped my silver 8 Plus on tile face down in the silicone case. My tempered glass protector and the case saved it, but the silicone chipped. Apple cases look thin but I guess they do a good job.

Anyway, anything dealing with iCloud or my Apple ID confuses the hell out of me. They can write a nice short crisp set of instructions or descriptions, but when you actually try to follow through and implement or apply what you’re reading to your situation, you realize they didn’t actually say what you needed to know. Or you have to go hunting further on their site. For a trillion dollar company you’d think they could hire the best writers for their site. Come to think of it their site design and customer interface is not particularly robust.

I swear by the Apple leather cases. I dropped a 6S+ in my driveway and it was perfect also. It hit the cement on the bottom right corner and fell face down. NO damage to the phone other then a blemish to the leather case. I've had the leather case on every iPhone from the 6S/6S+ and beyond.

Several weeks back, I shattered the display on my Note 8 when it slipped out of my hand. I blame that on the curved display because it's hard to find a case that can protect that. With the iPhones flat display and the Apple leather case, there is a lip on the leather cap that wraps around the display to protect the screen so unless the phone falls on a rock or jagged surface, it should not crack.

Instructions are right there on the site, and they include a little instruction booklet in the box.

Ah, bottom right corner—that’s where my silicone case broke up. Then it went down on its face on tile. I’ve got a $10 clear Ringke Fusion coming in the mail to shield the phone during the two weeks I decide whether or not it’s a keeper. Then I’m going to order myself an Apple leather case. I’ve no idea what color I want for the gold. I have always only used silicone before but this time around I don’t want any of the current colors. With the leather colors I like brown and black and green.

The only display I’ve ever broken was the S7 edge. I didn’t break it personally but I sent it to a trade in site and the screen got broken somewhere along the way.

Luckily I had insurance so I got it fixed and then sold it. I think it’s the curved screens that make them more fragile. Lovely to look at though.

Well they should be here tomorrow or the day after, and I usually post pics in the iPhone section.

What color iPhone will you use it with?
I didn't realize that that case was for the new iPhones. I only have an 8+. I'm not upgrading this year because I bought the Note 9.

They usually offer them for past models, don’t know why they stopped.

Enjoy your note 9, it’s always fun to get a new device.
