Played with the Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra a bit at a store. Samsung really did a great job in making the plastic on the Note 20 to have a similar feel to the matte glass back on the Ultra. Lay person won't notice it. Of course, we do know one is plastic. :) The S-pen is really nice. The low latency is really great. Disregarding the asking prices, Samsung did a great job here. But man, that ultra huge camera bump/brick on the ultra is just.... huge. :D

First report on a regular Note 20
If I had the money, I'd probably prefer the regular Note 20 over the Ultra. The flat screen will be more practical than the waterfall edge style on the ultra. And despite the plastic back, it still sports IP68, and the S-pen is the same. One just has to get over the thinking of plastic being "cheap." The actual feel on the regular Note 20 still feels premium. It definitely doesn't feel as "cheap" as the plastic used on the A series.

Its not 100% plastic its mix with some material , but the good thing is phones with plastic back are lot lighter than a glass.

First impressions so far for my white Note 20 Ultra,

The Good
This phone is super fast and responsive.
The display is amazing and 120hz is like butter.
Build quality it top notch. Samsung always has supper build quality hardware.
Bixby button is gone! RIP..you won't be missed.
Samsung One UI great! No complaints here.
The S-Pen has improved. Love using it as a remote to snap pics!
Big phone! But lighter than the S20 Ultra. Doesn't feel as top heavy to me.
Camera has been amazing so far! Haven't tested it on moving objects yet
Love the zoom and wide angle.
Fingerprint sensor seems faster than the S20 Plus/Ultra So does the Face unlock
Camera bump wobbles quite a bit. Not a ding as all phones wobble but this is wobbles more.

Not so good
no extra nibs/S-Pen tool
Curved display...rather have a flat display on the premium model
Camera bump is huge and wobbles a lot.

Gotta give Samsung props for Smart Switch backup software.
I had an encrypted back up on a SD Card of the S20 Plus I had a while back.
Restored the new Note 20 from that backup and it had all of my settings and wallpaper and installed all of my apps.
Restored my homescreen layout and folders.
Saved me sooooo much time!

Wow great post glad you are happy with your purchase. If the phone is super you will never feel the pinch of the $$$$$.

The phone looks more attractive than s20 ultra.

So got this all setup last night, it's real nice. I wanted this over the S20 as I specifically wanted the S-Pen and I'm glad I did. It's my first encounter of the S-Pen and I love it. I'm now trying to talk myself out of upgrading my Tab 5e to the 7+

Everything is super smooth, in terms of screen and performance.

I can just about manage to use it with one hand, but its not elegant and really for when I'm sat rather than walking around (bar normal number dialling, scrolling, etc)

Got my Spigen case on it now, along with a camera stick-on protector thing and glass screen protector, which did initially interfere with the fingerprint scanner but I've resolved that now.

Attached photo of dog was on auto settings at 5x

It sounds like you did ding the camera bump in the end :) I am guessing it isn't really an issue for case users? I have the Samsung Urban Assult Case or whatever they call it coming with mine :)

Mine is scheduled to arrive sometime today. I am looking forward to checking it out!

I don't recall extra Spen nibs coming with my Note 10+ either. I wonder if you contact Samsung if they would send users a set upon request. I understand that they are doing that (at least so far) with the missing earphones.

Enjoy your phone!

Thank you! I have a Spigen clear case coming to alleviate the camera bump!

Spen isn't the same, it's got a 20-somthing nanosecond delay while the ultra has 9. Its still an upgrade over the 40-something delay on previouse Notes though.

I was looking at a couple of the Spigen cases as well. I have a clear ESR case, but I am waiting to see if that actually fits. The box is marked Galaxy Note20 Plus. Uh 20 Plus? It appears as though it will work though.

I like the look of the Clear Spigen Hybrid, though I keep thinking I should maybe get something like the Samsung S-View Flip Cover or LED Wallet Cover, since I have a bad habit of jamming my phone into my pocket along with keys and other items.

Anyone here get the Note 20 Ultra as their device switched over from iOS for the first time?

I'm still on the fence but REALLY close to pulling the trigger. Just like to hear some other newbies sound off

Hey there, because Apple is gonna ban the Unreal Engine(which i use to develop), I’m now looking for alternatives, and sell my iP11Pro Max.

Is the S-Pen presure sensitive?
Hows Battery life?
Any negative sides(without flaming pls), which is good to know as a soon ex. iPhone user?

Yeah, after trying out the Buds Live, the more I think about it, I'd probably now opt for the Buds+ over the Live. As unimpressive as the active noise cancelling was on the Live, I think I'd rather have the better passive noise reduction that comes with the seal of the in-ear silicone tips on the Buds+ and the better battery life for the buds before they need a recharge. The Buds Live are really small but I found the touch 'gestures' inconsistent and easy to accidentally trip. The case on the Buds+ isn't that much larger and overall battery life is nearly the same.

Glad to see early impressions are so good for all of you early adopters of the Note 20 Ultra. Not the device for me personally but looks like a real powerhouse with some nice camera performance improvements over the S20.

That being said, I did 'reserve' my Z Fold 2 last week so will be keeping my eye on new info as it's released.

I’m all set to buy The sony WH-1000XM3 which seem to tick all the boxes for the gym and on a plane.

Considering the sound on the buds live was said to be same as air pods pro i don’t understand...unless mine are faulty.

I’m off to a bad start battery life wise but it needs time.

i want to blame my bad battery life today on awful signal at my work place where for half the day it was on 4G but had either one or zero bars. As soon as I switched to WiFi it improved.

my phone was off charge at 07.30am and by 19:30 was on 4%. Only managed 2 hours, 30 mins screen time but i will put this down to signal issues for now.
