The zoom on the Note 20 Ultra is fantastic!
From no zoom to max zoom....
The forum does compress these photos as they look so much better on Google photos

My Apple Music playing in the background and Calls seem to be the biggest battery hog ?
I went out of my way last night and did some bits and bobs on the Note that got it down to 85% just mucking about, left it over night and this am I deliberately did my dailies, bit of Youtube and netflix and stuff and got up to 4hours SOT at 47% battery left so I could easily squeeze anther 2 or 2.5 hours SOT or just messages, emails and normal stuff till late evening

IMO this is normal and fits what you should expect given the Iphone 11 Max should get another 1 to 1.5 hours on top of the Note 20 SOT

So I have no idea why your note is behaving so badly I can't say I have any extreme measures set on the Note it is even on 120hz, power mode optimized, dark mode and AOD is on

So odd IMO :)

Is that with the Exynos version? I’m getting know where near that.

Update: Samsung were of no help what so ever. I explained what was happening with battery life, they basically told me that I should turn off the 120hz display and limit my S-Pen usage, as that can cause battery drain when its put back into the phone to charge back up to 100%

I find it very unacceptable as an answer, when you pay flagship money you don't expect to be turning all these features off and limiting the usage of the S-Pen, which is one of the main reasons I brought it and was the biggest draw towards it in the first place. That would be like Apple saying that we should limit the Apple Pencil usage in order to maintain it's battery life. No it's up to you guys to put a decent battery in the device that can maintain all of those features.

I'm returning the Note 20 Ultra tomorrow.

Well, I called it early on.

I'm sure it was a fun ride... with experiencing all the features. Disappointed that you couldn't maintain satisfactory battery life. Well, maybe next go around... Samsung can stand in the battle much longer.

You've definitely been through apps using the battery in the background? I found the Samsung browser was sometimes a background battery hog if you use that? I'd have imported one right off the bat, cheaper and noticeable better battery.

I think it was the Exynos chipset. You went through a lot of things to get better battery life. I feel you gave it a great shot. I also feel the Snapdragon model would have gotten the battery life you were expecting.
Oh well...no harm no foul! You gave it a good shot and jumped through a lot of hoops to make this work.

I use Samsung browser. I favor it over any other browser because of Quick Access tab, Dark Mode.. Ad Blocking. Doesn't effect my battery as much as any other app.

I just know in my experience with it on the Note 10+, it was running for hours in the background until I restricted it. Strangely on the Pixel, I haven't had to do that. Just looking at what might be draining his battery.

That's a shame you could not resolve these issues, it's almost like the UK has a duff batch

Here's the little graph of what I noted to you earlier, I do not normally do or watch my consumption like this as I have no issues, just did this for you and YMMV

Well, I am going to sell my Note 20 Ultra and go back to a iPhone 12 Pro Max. The Note 20, love the display, and customization, but I am sick of having to charge my phone half way through the day because the battery can't take heavy usage. I've done all the tweaks too to getting the best out of it. I can't believe how bad the resale on this device is. Seems $700-1000 is the best they are getting right now depending on the memory. :(

Plus, my family has all iPhones, and I am the sole Android. I get nothing but complaints from them, not able to send me pictures/videos, etc.

Yeah, that doesn't make much sense. I get it that green bubbles is a thing, but there shouldn't be any issues receiving pictures and videos from iPhones. Just have to make sure iMessage has been turned off before switching.

I can't believe that in 2020, iMessage is the only way to send pictures and videos. Us poor Android owners have it really bad.
A bit of a generalisation there.

The wife and I have been using Samsung Messages with RCS enabled with all iMessage functionality for months now.

Furthermore we also have many family members using RCS enabled Android Messages to sharing with us full size videos and photos.

Unfortunately the rollout of RCS is more network dependent than Android! Thankfully most UK networks support RCS!

Oops.. I saw your message but didn't review context my friend! I guess, I was trying to defend the Android corner from a seemingly Android bashing post. Jumped the gun. My bad.

Also note, I am from the UK, we invented sarcasm! Haha!
It's the way that some on iOS make out there's iMessage and nothing else. Sure, it's probably the most convenient iPhone to iPhone, but there's endless ways of communicating.

Don't know if this a UK only thing but iMessage isn't a really a big thing here most people use Whatsapp be it Android or Apple.

WhatsApp is very popular here but i have missed iMessage got to admit. The wife has certainly missed imessaging me and will be glad when my 12 pro max arrives. Using the iPad is where i miss not having it i must admit. Along with the apple watch just easier to deal with on multiple devices.

sadly exynos issues are well known...it’s great some here have had no issues but from my experience that Isn’t the norm. There’s a reason this chip set gets so much hate on forums and twitter alike.
