Hopefully this is just one of those once-off incidents due to user error.
Galaxy S10 5G reportedly catches fire, Samsung says there's been 'external damage'
https://www.phonearena.com/news/Galaxy-S10-5G-ignition-meltdown_id115683

I remember it happned too to Note9 but it was just a once off thing.

Taking a phone to an unauthorized repair shop, or trying to do a DIY job without the correct tools or knowledge.

But who knows what happened in this case, Samsung say the device had external damage.

Too many people use cheap chargers and wires too..

For me it would mainly be for the S pen. I won't be buying the S line and note line every year.

I got the S10 plus this year to get used to samsung again coming from the iPhone so this is the last year I will get two Samsung phones in the same year

I'm sure there will be some new S pen features on top of that
Hi .. are u back to samsung?

The S10 5G is super fast in areas where you can FIND 5G!

Samsung has never let Note fans down. It obviously won’t be like it used to be, when the Note had very little in common with the galaxy S that year. The Note 7 was probably the last time the Note was a massive upgrade over the Galaxy s.
Samsung will let Note fans down if they remove the headphone jack. Wait til next year and most of us will understand and accept that. But this year is one too soon. We'll see... If they remove it, I may consider the S10 5G because it's so similar.

every year will be "too soon" until they just do it... it's like a band aid, just rip it off ;)

Yeah... I'm not like most consumers though. I just released a music vid this morning and am testing it on headphones (on the road, might forget or lost my adapter), my Bose already has a dongle for the noise reduction, so having another one connected to that is a lot...) Can't listen to music in the car through aux while charging if no headphone jack, things like that. Basically I want the most modern phone possible without a headphone jack. If that's the S10 5G and not the Note, I could live with that. I was hoping for one more go with it before phasing it out next year though :D

trust me, I wish they kept headphone jacks on phones since I know people do use them. I would truly be surprised (shocked?) if Samsung removed it on the Note 10. I don't ever use mine and only use BT, but I definitely understand that I'm not the only consumer out there :) I do think it's inevitable, I just didn't think Samsung would do it in 2019.

I use my AirPods or AKG headphones 99% of the time. However the time I miss having a headphone jack on my iPhone is when I’m in bed at night and want to watch/listen to something on my phone and I also want to charge my phone at the same time. I don’t like wearing my AirPods in bed in case I fall asleep with them on.

I never really wanted to get rid of my S9+. My S10+ is very nice. Not quite as nice as my S9+ was, in some respects, but it has more storage and the wide angle camera that made it a nice trade up. If Samsung is going forth without headphone jacks, I’ll just hang onto my Flamingo friend. I find it so annoying my Pixel 3XL lacks a headphone jack. I do use Bluetooth buds but just am not ready to part with wired options.

At this stage of the game I do have a ton of lightning earbuds around so Apple lacking headphone jacks isn’t a huge deal anymore but having just one set of USB-C earbuds means some annoyances until I build up a supply of them.

I’m disappointed that Samsung is going along this route.

I bought this anyway.

Phone is massive but I love it. Battery has been really good and the super fast charge is a nice addition.

I never use the s pen and didn't want to wait for the note. iPhone xs max is now in the grasps of my wife and apple watch has gone

Have you tried out the portrait mode videos?

I’ve not seen any samples of these anywhere.

Not yet. Only got it yesterday and haven't had much time to play with it yet

Had some messing about with the iPhone's. Apple released 12.3.2 for 8 plus but not xs max. When I tried to restore wife's back up from 8 plus to xs max it wouldn't allow it!

Got a new beast today.......

Crown Silver 256GB Brand New from Cash Converters here in the UK still sealed, £599 with 6 months warranty.

Should be almost as good as the Note 10 hopefully.

Sold my Note 9 for £350 so I only paid £250 for this.

Wow that’s a bargain. If I could get a deal like that I’d jump on it.

I saw the phone a few weeks ago in a store and wow it is really big. I'm glad I didn't get it because it truly is a massive phone. I wish it had a 4k screen then I pretty much would have purchased it guaranteed... especially with the UFS 3.0, ToF and headphone jack. Happy with my S10 it's just the right size but the 5G was a definitely a contender.
