So how is everyone finding the ultrasonic FPS after a few days of use? There was a fair amount of criticism torwards it initially and im interested to see if things have improved. Personally I'm still finding it to work near flawlessly.
It is pretty awesome! Works great for me too. Not perfect but...but close. I can unlock my phone without looking at it now. I wish there was a little haptic feedback when hitting the sweet spot though :)

unfortunately no, not for all apps. It depends on how the developer has coded the app to receive notifications while in doze. Google actually do not think its an issue that users have to wait for notifications. The technical parts of this are described here.

https://developer.android.com/training/monitoring-device-state/doze-standby

I wouldn't worry to much about this, unless you have an app that you must have notifications immediately. My example is the Hikvision camera app. Setting all battery optimisations etc to off still do not allow immediate notifications unless I use the adb command to kill the doze service.

There are a lot of discussions on the web about this (key search words - android doze, android delayed notifications etc)
Yeah it’s not a big deal, as long as texts come through that’s what matters and sport scores on sofa score as i like to know when it happens.

Just not used to it coming from the iPhone.

:rolleyes: I am about to sell my S10:rolleyes::rolleyes:

There just to many things I have to find workarounds for or alternatives with my Samsung S10 and the rest of my Apple devices.

I'll give it a few more days.

But I have got to admit, after the last software update which included improvement for the fingerprint sensor and redoing all my fingerprints again, I am actually pretty happy now with the fingerprint sensor.

I truly think the 2nd gen. fingerprint sensor will be similar as the 2nd gen TouchID years ago.

Sometimes I get the phone out of my pockets, finger on the screenen and once I have got it pointing my face its already unlocked...about 7 out of 10 times...so pretty good!

Has anyone downloaded custom themes from the theme store yet!? I'm curious if you download a dark theme, if the notifications in the panel are also dark. I know back when I had the S8, they would still be white, along with other white elements that just made dark themes so inconsistent.

For example, my pixel dark theme below. Bugs the crap out of me.

I would give it more time.

It’s been an adjustment for me too coming from the max...notifications has been a tough adjustment and the keyboard but swiftkey has helped with this.

I have my max near by if i need to change but each time i pick it up it feels outdated and just a simple phone in comparison but like with iPhone and the S10 they are different but i have to ask myself do i want better technology for my buck?

But doesn’t night mode not work if you use themes? That’s the only thing putting me off trying themes.

Does using Good Lock put any extra drain on the battery? Few reviews of on the Galaxy Store said it drainied there battery quicker. Thought i'd take those with a pinch of salt and see what people here are experiencing.

Someone said it does but I'm curious if theme developers now have the ability to theme the notifications better.

yeah, I am gonna give it a few more days. I am not in a real rush ;)

There are tons of things I really really like with my S10. For example, the fun I have with the different camera modes, and particular the wide angle camera!
And ofcourse the screen/display, simply beautiful

Extremely impressive considering phones are essentially commodities today. I think we'll find every third Galaxy and iPhone will sell very well as the upgrade cycles for these devices lengthen. I can imagine many users will buy one phone a generation, where a generation is like the iPhone 6 generation (iPhone 6-8) and then the iPhone X generation (X-iPhone 2019). With Samsung, the S10 is the first of the hole punch generation so it should sell well.

Anyone know any good cases for the S10e? The one I am using now makes it more difficult to get a better reading on the S10e's fingerprint sensor.

I’m most likely in the minority here but android and the s10 in particular has too many options. I almost fee never content, like there’s other things I should be tinkering with or customizing. It’s a good and bad thing that my iPhone just is there and does what it does.

I wish I had the ability to enjoy it more because the s10 is quite amazing. I played with one a bit yesterday and will still probably end up getting on at some point once some deals start dropping.

Just sounds like a personal hangup or some OCD lol. Never too many options. I just use the ones that I like, don't use them all. Like the fingerprint sensor. Don't care about it, but it's there if I want it at some point. I don't use an unlock option just swipe to open.

I feel the exact same. Almost too many options and I find my self spending hours looking all settings, making changes, getting people to message to see what the new change looks like on AOD and Lock Screen. I feel that I can't settle because there's just so many more options. Then I pick up my XS Max and it's just simple and does what it needs to do.

To add, there are a couple of things that the iPhone does and does well:

- Secure notifications which give you a preview once the device has authenticated you via FaceID
- Consistency in all notifications. My Ring app will vibrate 4 times and there is absolutely no way to change this when I only want it to vibrate once
- Some elements are better polished such as some apps

However, this s10+ black ceramic is a beautiful beast of a phone and the possibilities are endless. I love the hardware and the screen is pretty incredible. But I just can't help but feel I am missing something by not using my iPhone and I don't understand why I feel like that.
