Weird, I don't know anybody that has WhatsApp. I don't have it and nobody has ever told me anything like "I use WhatsApp, you should try it".I always thought WhatsApp was for other countries.
Hmm maybe it's a generation thing? I'm in my late 20s. I speak to a lot of people that dont live in the USA so it's a necessity for me. How do people with android do video calls? How do you make video calls to android users?
[doublepost=1557347865][/doublepost]
On my plan I have unlimited SMS but get charged 55p per item Item I send via MMS. Most of my contacts use android phones so I’m not going Pay 55p every time I want to send a photo or video or even a web link via iMessage.
Yep exactly. Looking on it now, unlimited text may be a major reason imessage got so popular, hence why iPhone users are hooked to it and can't leave. Unlimited SMS has resulted in loyal iPhone fans.

I don't usually like to do video calls but when I do i use Hangouts or Facebook Messenger. Google has the Duo app as well but I've never used it.
Google should have one video calls app built in to it,( like FaceTime)..preloaded so everybody on Android has it. That way you don't have to worry about if the other person has it downloaded or not.

Yes it has gesture controls....the stock method is swiping from the bottom of the screen in the upwards direction....its partitioned into 3 zones...left zone for back, middle zone for home, right zone for app switcher....but you can also add more functionality (more than what the iPhone can do) by installing Samsungs own gesture app (Back Button app clone) or installing Back Button Gesture app from the play store (which I use). I've hotzoned each right and left side for going Back when I swipe from the edges.....I cant live without it....

I use Duo for video calling. It’s ok. Not horrible, not great. It’s serviceable. About the same as FaceTime for me, maybe a little less smooth in conveying motion.

For us it is more about the limitations of our available cellular service than it is about the apps or the phones themselves. The signals don’t penetrate well into stores (we usually use video calling when shopping to ask for help picking out merchandise or groceries). At home the signal is kind of weak.

Picked up a S10 today, and the fingerprint reader keeps asking me to ' Press harder ' every time. Is this expected functionality ? On my Note 9, all I have to do was place my finger on the sensor and done.

There was supposedly a major update that fixed that since launch.

I'd check to make sure you are on that update.

Arrgh. I was just on the phone to my dad. We had a nice conversation but the problem was, when I finished and he hung up, I looked at my S10+ and to my horror saw that apparently my face was trying to book a trip somewhere.

I just tossed the phone to my husband and said "Get me out of this." I was just scared to death my right ear had booked us on an expensive vacation. :p

This is the second time my ear or cheek has gone web surfing on this phone while I was on a long phone conversation. This does not happen every time I use the phone, but it's still two more times than has ever happened on any other phone I have ever owned. I'm greatly displeased.

Otherwise, I'm enjoying it. The display is awesome and of course I love the camera.

I do not like the in display fps much because it is slower than I'm used to. The Pixel fps has spoiled me. But at least it is fairly accurate. It has a failure rate noticeably lower than Face ID for me. The Pixel is tops for biometric authentication for me. I wish Apple would put touch ID sensor on the back on the Apple Logo or something.

My husband has gone back to his iPhone XS Max but that's just because it's time to switch. He just likes to switch it up and keep things fresh on both platforms. Unlike me, he doesn't like to carry two phones, so he has to completely switch when he wants to use a particular phone. He will be back on the S10+ for summer vacation in about a month and a half from now.

I continue using this and my Xr.

How is the S10 Plus?

I lost my xs max so will have to purchase a new phone, I was thinking of going android this time and get the s10 plus as its newer and cheaper. I can't wait until the new apple phones come out which will probs be in September.

How is the battery life and sound/screen quality?

Messed with one today in Best Buy randomly and that screen is jaw droopingly good. I still dont prefer the Samsung OS but it has improved greatly and it feels amazing in the hand. Light and almost too light for a phone that price but a great difference from the brick of the XS Max which I have. I am iOS guy through and through but then I go back to Android for my flings, I prefer the Google experience. Combine that with the S10 hardware, wow.

Screen quality forget about, this is Samsung flagship, quality is excellent

As for battery, I've only had mine a week but it's been superb, Had no issues at all and much better than my xs max has been.

Thank you

I have just ordered it so hopefully I like it and don't miss the XS Max.
One benefit of iPhones though is that they hold their value compared to android phones

What screen protector are you using for yours? I read that not all protectors work with the S10 compared to iPhones which you can use any glass protector.
[doublepost=1557669303][/doublepost]For all S10 Plus users especially those in the UK which screen protector are you using?

I know it comes with one but its not high quality.

Whilst resale value of Iphone varies from country to country with US having very good 2nd hand values, total cost of ownership ends up when all things are weighed around the same and for many in Samsung's favor in some countries.

Especially when you consider fast charger, free clear case, 200GB storage, vouchers and coupons and screen protector, early adopters also got free buds and generous trade in deals.

There is nothing wrong with the supplied screen protector just some prefer a glass type which are equally expensive for all phones, there is just a lack of cheap ones for the S10's

Whare are the best wireless earbuds that go with the Samsung S10. I used to won a pair of AirPods and even though they're grea, they didn't particularly fit my ears well plus the feature do not work with android phones I'm told.

I was thinking gf getting the new Powerbeats pro but I am not sure if there suited to android phones as well since they're an apple apple product.

Supplied screen protector I’ve had no issue with. Had no problems. Looking on android forums it seems glass screen protectors ( namely Whitestone dome) are hot and miss with regards to fingerprint scanner

Really so you are using the one that came with the phone? Hasn't it come apart yet?

I am so used to glass screen protectors and I have never had a cracked screen so worried the one that comes with the phone won't protect the screen well.

No mate it’s held up fine. I don’t think it’ll withstand a drop or impact but I’m using it mainly for scratch resistance

So, has anyone tried the LED ring apps that you can download in place of the lack of the LED notification. I saw a couple or articles and youtube videos but wanted someone on here to give any feedback.

Would prefer the just LED ring vs. AOD.
