See how you get on and decide if the battery life needs increasing by putting apps to sleep. If you’re not happy with the battery life, you can see which apps are using the most battery and then make adjustments.
I know this sounds like a silly question but when you put apps to sleep that means right you will not get any notifications or updates until you actually use the app right?
so it makes sense to put apps you don't use to sleep right?

You will still get notifications . It will just be a tiny bit slower to open because it's not stored.om memory and has to refresh .

[doublepost=1558291194][/doublepost]What screen protector are you guys using?

I stupidly removed the preinstalled one and bought one online that comes with the glue nut still the fingerprint does not work. It's annoying since I have to use a pin code and not the fingerprint sensor until I can find a decent screen protector.

Man I like this pixel 3a so much that I am going to sell my s10+. Really going to miss the screen, wide angle camera, and Samsung pay.

What about the pixel do you miss?

I was going to get the Pixel but opted for the S10+. I think there is a new pixel coming out soon.

T-Mobile was running a promotion up until last week on the new pixel 3a. I was able to buy a pixel 1 on eBay to trade in for $80. Making the total price of the phone $160 for me.

I love my s10+ but it isn't worth it for me to keep it now that I have the pixel 3a.

The most important thing to me on a phone is the camera, and the pixel really is incredible. I have been doing some side by side shots of my own with the two phones, and the pixel really is markedly better IMO. The s10 has a good consistent camera, but the pixel has a great camera.

That's kind of where I'm at too. I took some pics over the weekend with my S10+ and I wasn't wowed. Didn't feel like a $1,000 device. Curious, now that you have the Pixel 3a, do you miss the screen of the S10+? I think that's what I'll miss the most about the Samsung.

I do miss the larger screen, but I prefer the flat display. I also like the plastic back.

I am pretty sure that I am going to be a pixel owner for the foreseeable future though.

When the next pixel comes out I may sell my S10+ and get it if the reviews are really good.

Just a question as I am coming from an iPhone so I am not clued up with android but to back up my S10+ is it best to use google or Samsung Cloud? Bare in mind I do switch phones quiet a bit so which is easier to transfer things over etc...

I switch phones all the time. The Google cloud will restore all of your apps and settings on whatever Android device you have next.

The Pixel 3a is so cheap that a part of me is thinking of really going to the dark side and keeping the S10+ too. We'll see. If I get a good offer on it I'll probably sell it but there's no harm if I keep it.

I actually get the Pixel 3a delivered today. I'm a bit nervous about it though. The S10+ is such a cool device. We'll see what happens. I just wish I could put the Pixel camera on the S10.

Leaving the iPhone, I want the additional features Samsung bring personally. I know people talk about vanilla android but now Samsung appears to have killed off the old lag it once had, I want those extra goodies they bake into their software

Yeah the other thing bugging me is that I've just been getting some of the craziest low-ball offers for the S10+. It might just pay to keep it and deal with the camera.

Samsung devices don't hold their value at all. Hell most Android devices dont.

So true. Some of the offers are beyond ridiculous though. I had a guy on Facebook marketplace try to tell me this was a fair deal:

I get - 6 month hold Google Pixel 3XL - no accessories or box

He gets - 2 month old Samsung Galaxy S10+, Galaxy Buds, 256gb SdCard, 3 cases

and no extra cash thrown in, lol! Otherwise, I would have actually thought about that trade.

I’m considering the Samsung upgrade program going forward. Selling an a samsung phone is a headache and this way I give it back after 12 months and get the new model without any ridiculous offers

Yes the smart buyer takes advantages of Samsung generous bundle offers and good trade ins

On a like for like basis there is little or no difference in cost of ownership of Samsung devices and if you max out on free cloud storage and coupon deals etc etc its one of the least cost of ownership direct from the OEM before any carrier savings and other 3rd party deals

I’m interested in that if it materializes this year. I’m not itching to ditch the S10+ but I do have a lot of fun with the wide angle camera and wouldn’t mind one with an even more versatile lens setup sooner rather than later. Especially since I didn’t exactly break the bank getting this S10+.

Mainly I was just waiting for a new iPhone, but that rumor got my attention back on Android.

This true

The new S10+ is probably worth only half its retail price now.
That’s why you should keep trading up directly with Samsung yearly. Most Galaxy S/Note users that I know basically do this, as that’s the only way to ensure decent value for their one year old phones.
On the free market, I even found the my Xiaomi can worth more than my Galaxy.
