That’s why you should keep trading up directly with Samsung yearly. Most Galaxy S/Note users that I know basically do this, as that’s the only way to ensure decent value for their one year old phones.
On the free market, I even found the my Xiaomi can worth more than my Galaxy.

But if I remember correctly don't they only give you like £300? You could sell your phone elsewhere for the same amount.

I actually get the Pixel 3a delivered today. I'm a bit nervous about it though. The S10+ is such a cool device. We'll see what happens. I just wish I could put the Pixel camera on the S10.

It's the camera software processing that's special and not camera hardware. Have you tried Gcam on the S10+ (preferably Snapdragon version)?

The new S10+ is probably worth only half its retail price now.
Yes because the smart original owner has kept the free Buds, used the free case, used the free screen protector, kept the free 200GB cloud storage, used the $100 coupons etc and not bothered about the fast charger as will get another one with the new Samsung. In some countries you got other extras like a free Samsung tablet worth another $150

With generous trade in's annual cost of ownership $1-200 for many in real terms

or for those that do not buy in on early adopters promotions and get the special 6 months discounted price still with the free case and screen protector, kept the free 200GB cloud storage, used the $100 coupons etc and fast charger

With same generous trade in's annual cost of ownership $150-250 for many in real terms

Now if you throw in additional fee's of extended warranties etc that are not required, cheaper storage options via SD cards, actual outlay is also considerably less than others, in addition to real cost of ownership there is no hassle of selling on open market

This is all OEM deals, the more canny have other 3rd party or carrier promotions

Now do the same numbers on other premium equivalents on a like for like basis that require additional outlay on accessories, memory etc and cost of ownership is not just simple depreciation of the handset

Sent my carrier s10+ back as the deal wasn’t as good as joining Samsung upgrade program.

New s10+ from samsung should be here tomorrow

I might do the same thing but the thing is I'm not sure if im always going to stick with Samsung. For example I might want the new pixel when it comes out

I get the new galaxy most years but usually sell it on, I try and kid myself I won’t but I always do.

This way I’ll keep it 12 months and get the newer model.

Pixels do nothing for me personally. I want all the bells and whistles that Samsung provide, especially now Samsung have gotten rid of most of the lag they had a few years back

You and me both. I love what the Pixel offers with their cameras and tempted to jump from the OP7 if the Pixel 4 is as these leaks have advised and they improve the already top of class camera.

Ill probably never buy a Samsung again though between the OP and Pixel line as my favorite Android iOS counterparts.

That's true

I can't make up my mind and always switch. Only reason I got the S10+ was because I lost my iPhone XS Max and was due an upgrade with my network provider. I opted for the S10+ because it was cheaper, newer and I wanted a change from having had iPhones for like the last 5 years. Also with the Vodafone contract I get free Spotify premium for 2 years that I normally pay £10 a month for so that swayed me.
I have 30 days to cancel though so I like I said I could opt for the Samsung upgrade program.

Yes the Pixel camera is great and I like how clean the phone is. Just a pure google phone.

The Pixel 3xl the camera apparently is bad and I have read many complaints about lag etc..thats why I went with the S10+.

Interesting. I thought that lag was resolved a long time ago. Pixel cameras are the best of any smartphone really but that depends on the user I guess.

Sorry what I meant to say is the Pixel 3XL battery is bad. Not the camera.

You are right the Pixel has the best camera.

So I have a very strange situation. Way back at the end of March I initiated a return on Samsung's website. I of course ended up keeping the device and never returning it.

Two days ago I got an email that said that they successfully processed my return and would be refunding my money. Me, trying to do the right thing, called samsung twice and both times they assured me that they would cancel the refund. Well I check my bank account this morning and sure enough, there's the refund for the phone. So I basically sitting on a free S10+.

I am at the point where I feel like I did my due diligence and told them that it was a mistake to refund me so I don't really want to continue to hunt them down, but at the same time I am afraid that they will blacklist the phone. Has anyone ever had this happen?

Well...It sounds like you have tried to do the right thing and you should be applauded for that. Wait it out a few more days to see what happens from Samsung. You reached out and made the right communications to reverse the refund. They never received the phone so not sure why they would refund the money anyways.
If after a couple of weeks and nothing from them..... Take the family on a nice little trip and enjoy your good fortune.
You tried to do the right thing so your conscience should be clear on this....
I don't think they will blacklist the phone.

Thanks! Yeah don't want to be on the bad side of karma, but also don't want to chase them around daily.

The only thing I'm still worried about is that they'll black list the phone because they'll suddenly realize they don't have it and then mark it as lost/stolen.

Well I also applaud your honesty,

I don't think they can or would be bothered to blacklist, but also I would just keep the money to the side as often audits turn up these anomalies sometime later

As a final good gesture for your conscious I would send them an email as it is a paper trail opposed to an unrecorded phone call.

Yeah that's a good call. That was kind of my worry too. Just a random reversal one day. I think I'll shoot them an email and let them know. If anything, maybe they'll be nice enough to give me a nice little credit towards a future order for being honest with them, lol!

@mjschabow I don’t think they’ll blacklist the phone because it would seem their system thinks they have received the phone back. They have no reason to block it

Yeah I think you guys are right about the blacklist worries. And I now have a paper trail of trying to contact them.

My Samsung upgrade program s10+ turned up yesterday.

The Mrs is getting the Xs max
Enjoy. My only disappointment with the device is that Exynos has night sight camera but it's still not out in the US. Otherwise you can't beat the screen and battery on this phone.

I had an XS Max and I find the battery was better on the iPhone than the S10+

Have you adjusted your settings to get better battery like turning settings things off?

Putting Apps to sleep?

My battery is awesome on this phone so no, I don't really mess with any settings.
